This summer I looked into the Jeep p/u and the dealer said they were still working on it. I looked into a 2019 Dodge Ram Power Wagon. $67,000+ and 17 to 19 mpg. However - for an estimated $6400 more - the Power Wagon may be a diesel with all its increased maintenance requirements but possibly better mpg.
I don't think I could get a loan for that much money. At 76 my estimated life expectancy is shorter that the life of the loan.
Can you imagine this gut wrenching experience - parking your brand new $75,000 pickup in the mall parking lot and worrying about somebody hitting it with a shopping cart.
Or driving down my mile long gravel driveway and getting dust on it or splashing a bit of cow dung up on it.
NO THANKS - I already have enough trouble sleeping at night.
