January Started good......then sheered all the studs pushing snow!! 4 hrs later got the broken studs out and some temporary bolts in and got back to the house. -22 C . I am getting good at fixing ****!!!

Hey, What brand soft cab is that?

What I have found the tractor will push straight no problem - so what i have been doing it running straight down the middle first and then running up each side afterwards with the blade angled and up a bit. Seems to work a little better for me. With the blade on and angle it wants to move the front end all over the place. I do not have chains on the front but i am very wary on how hard it would be on the front end. Hope you guys don't mind me chiming in here....LOL

I use 12mm Auto tire chains on the front axle. They are very easy on the front end and do help steering some. I use 2WD mostly.
Being small in section the 12mm chains break a few times a season. When they get really worn the $25 Amazon (China) junk are cheap enough to replace.

Question (probably a dumb one) - i have been told these tractors have a float mode? How would you activate this on the M59? .......Because i have not been doing it:confused3:

Joystick all the way forward to detent

Thanks Mikster - is it supposed to stay forward kinda locked?

It's a detent - you should feel it click if you push it all the way forward. It should stay in the forward position when in detent. On mine it will sometimes pop out of detent on rough ground or if I accidentally bump the joystick. I never looked at mine but the float detent is usually spring adjustable in the valve body. The dealer should be able to adjust it for you if it's not engaging or staying in detent properly.

They look good! I've been eyeing them for the rears. Please report back and let us know how they did at the end of this season.

I'm on my 3rd year with screw in studs. Each year I am amazed (forgot how well they work) We just had conditions that created ice rink quality skating conditions that actually made walking on it without shoe cleats impossible but the tractor moved around almost normally on it. Initially I used 2 studs in each individual "bar" or lug thinking I could add more, that was not necessary.
They are not equal to my European studded ice chains in the woods in deep snow but I'd say they are very close to them on ice.
Leave them in year round, removal leaves a small hole making that spot unavailable to re install next season.
