I uploaded a new video! Click here to see it!

I talk about fixing my issue with the cab defroster, installing snow chains, logging my property, and a new landscape rake!

Let me know what you think!

Hi all, I just got my LS MT125 last Wednesday and had 6-8" of snow today! After reading several posts about pushing snow with the bucket I picked up a 5' piece of 1 1/2" ABS pipe at Lowe's for $8, cut it to fit inside the bucket and cut a slit lengthwise on my table saw and then pounded it on the edge of thsse bucket. This really worked well, kept me from scuffing up my asphalt driveway which is in pretty bad shape anyway. Worked best on float with the angle just slightly down. Here's some pics. The ABS did get scrapped and chipped so I just flipped it over, should be good for the next snowfall.

Nicely installed. If you replace it, use pvc pipe. It's a little thicker and more dense.

so last week I posted pictures of digging the post holes with the tractor to move my back gates. Today, I got started on the fencing and the actual move. Since I have automatic gate openers, I had to dig up the wire I had put underground across the driveway and move it. When I put this in a year ago, my tractor didn't have an FEL, so I trenched it by hand. Since then, there have been two loads of crusher run and two loads of apshalt millings put on the driveway and packed in. it took me close to 4 hours to dig that up and move it. I did do it with the FEL though, I'd still be digging if I had to do that by hand again!

so the wires were moved, then used that free float setting to smooth the driveway back again

I can't believe I didn't get a picture of my chain attachement for pulling the fence tight, I will get that tomorrow when I do the other side. I put a chain from the center hook I welded on my FEL, to a chain going to top and bottom of the fence. I have 2x4 cut with holes and bolts to sandwich the fence and be my puller. When I put the fence up a few years ago, I had to use a come along on top and bottom. I did learn that hydraulics on the tractor will put out a fence post if you're not careful! but I got it back in and stable. Fencing is done on one side, tomorrow, I'll pull from the other side, hooking the fence on the big post that's 4 ft in the ground instead of the old gate post ;)

I offset the gate 10 more feet, which will give me plenty of room to be off the road while I'm waiting on the gate to open :)

oh yeah, loving these pallet forks, I loaded up all the tools I need for the job on a pallet, my small generator and air compressor, boxes with the tools, etc and hauled it all around on one trip. My next project for the tractor is going to be a 3 point hitch carry all for sure!

Nice work! Drive doesn't even look like it was touched!

Work this morning to put hay out for the horses. The curl function on the FEL would not work to start with. It was a little cold for Alabama, but not that bad. After it warmed up, it worked ok. The stick is still hard to move for the curl. Time to look at the manual. I think it may only need a little lube on it.

I cannot image it getting colder in Alabama than here! I have not witnessed any issue with mine, even below zero. That is kinda odd.

Can't remember if I ever posted the blinkies I added a while back. Another set faces forward, all tied into the turn signal pins in the trailer connector.

Cold here is ice on the windows. High 20's is cold. If it snows, it is only on the ground for a day, maybe two. I sometimes think it would be better to stay cold for more than one or two days as to kill some of the bugs. One of my apple trees had blooms on the top of it two weeks ago. Also, I think I could handle the frozen ground better than the mud. I would say, I wish it would warm up. But this summer, I will be wishing it would cool off.

thank you! it drives nice and smooth too. I do say I am loving the asphalt millings! they pack in very well.

ok a few more pics, I finished up the fence and gate work today. Tomorrow I have a little clean up to do and some work on the wiring from the solar panel to the control panel. Today I pulled the fence from the big post I put in last week instead of pulling against the old gate post. Much more stout pulling against a 9" post that's 4' in the ground with 3 bags of cement holding it in all that slate, LOL

a few pics. I did get a few of my chain set up and my 2x4 fence pulling sandwich, the curl function on the bucket is perfect for pulling tension into the fence! :)

for attaching the boards over the fence (more for aesthetic than anything) I clamped a 10" c-clamp to the post to rest one end of the board on while I was lining up and attaching the other end

and finally a pic of the gates open! we're back to using this entrance again and it's wonderful if we have to wait on the gate to open not to be blocking traffic
