I use vibration isolation dampers under the legs...

McMaster-Carr has them and so does Grainger.

Some are laminated rubber pads and others actually float the compressor on springs...

They all reduce vibration.

Sure is looking good. Sorry about your hangar rash.

You and Winston seem to have your priorities right.

Tunes, sleep, and soon warmth.

I put some of those concrete round pads on the backside of my barn to put my compressor. I had the electrician put 220 v single phase there. I just never got the single phase 5 hp motor for the freebie compressor I had, so now I just got given an oldie speedaire twin cylinder pump. It might need some rebuilding. (Rings and reeds).

I wanted the compressor noise outside, so it wouldn't mess up my tunes.

Not in Missouri you don't.

Air lines run. Hopefully get the compressor wired up so I can see how bad they leak this weekend. The ones I did in the garage a couple of years ago didn’t leak at first, but developed one after a couple of months. Hopefully that’s not the case with these. 1” Schedule 40 around 40ft long, adding a little extra volume for very little money.

I got a good deal on this 1/2” hose reel through work and was disappointed when I put it up and it wouldn’t retract. Took it apart and found the spring broke in it. I “fixed” it, but it’s still not quite right. Going to have to get another one for sure. Won’t cost me anything, it’ll just be a pain taking this one down and putting the other one up.

Builder got my little accident fixed!

One of my friends hauled a load of 2” rock in today. Going to need a bunch more, but the weather was super sketchy here today. Also, I’m terrified to use the tractor around the building now. I was smart enough to fold the ROPS down so I didn’t hit the porch over hang though. Pat myself on the back for that one!

I guess I haven't checked my reel. I'll do that before I hang it.

Looks like it won’t be long before the projects will begin. I’m going to put my compressor in my cold storage area this time, I had originally had it setting along the wall then built a loft in my old shop, just moving it up in the corner of the loft made a Hugh noise improvement. I have a couple of reels and may buy at least one or two more, they sure are a lot nicer than hand rolling loose hose.

Really shocked to see that you used PVC for your air lines. This is something that should never be done, it's just not worth the risk to you, or anybody else in the building.

I had a feeling you would reprimand me for that! I've used them in two other garages, and everyone I know uses them in their home shops. I've never had an issue with them, and no one I know that uses them has had any kind of issue either. I realize that they aren't up to "code" but I'm cheap so until I see some kind of issue with them that's what I'm using. $36 bought me 40 ft of PVC, assorted couplers and fittings. Not going to get air line any cheaper than that.

Looking at the shop you are building.....I would not consider you cheap.

Looks very nice, wish I could duplicate it at my new house. I am in need of a shop as soon as I can swing it financially.

Thank you! We could do some trading? I'll trade you my shop for the house and view that you have! I've followed your thread, and super envious. I have great ambitions of retiring in the west somewhere. I guess time will tell on how that plays out.
