Cabin fever starts a little in March when it keeps snowing. But the worse part is not the snow , instead it is lack of sunshine. Average of two weeks out of each month we get NO sunshine. Sometimes three weeks in one month with no sun. That is rough, even a 20 below zero day is fine if the sun shines. Eight more inches of snow this morning and now the lake effect snow has started. I'll post a couple new pics later. Another fun day playing in the snow.

Skiing, snowshoeing and getting out in some way to see the beauty of winter, keeps 99% of cabin fever away. (ak exercise) We moved to the Lake Superior snow belt some 25+ years ago to enjoy winter.

Exactly. The best cure for SAD (seasonal affective disorder) also seems to be getting outside. Find a dang way to enjoy the outdoors no matter what the weather. Cooped up indoors for 6+ months... no bueno. The problem down here in the southeast part of the state, is that the snow goes away quite often, and then you're left with cloudy, muddy, or often yet still quite cold and icy days, where it just kinda sucks to be outdoors, no matter what you're into.

You guys must see the sun muuuuch more than we do here over the winter. Seems its one or less times than that, a week. Don't even carry sun glasses with us. Having said that, the little pond seems to be freezing up and we are seeing that funny yellow thing today. :D

Well, it varies. If the winds are out of the west or north, then no, we're still cloudy here too (lake effect clouds that don't just have enough moisture to snow). This year we had quite a bit of sun in December and the first half of January, until winter finally arrived. It's funny when the lake ice cover gets up near 100%, and then we ALL have sunshine!

3-4" of lake effect making it all the way to Detroit today though! Should be enough to ski through the woods tonight. .... rain tomorrow, WTF!

I just finished plowing a foot of snow and there is more on the way. 5 1/2 hours, burned 2 gallons of fuel.

5 and half HOURS? How many driveways do you plow? 2 gallons over that much time is not bad at all though!

Just got in from blowing the walk and drive out, so I took some photos just for you characters.. Also packed a walkway with da machine.

In the 1st the dog is standing on top of a bush roof that protects it from snow loads. This is our hummingbird garden. The other dog photo is on the south side of our home that I blow out a path to get to the 2 bird feeders you can see in it.

The other two are getting the 6x6 out to pack a walking path and a good view of the yard snow. Hope you like them.
