My new one (PSU) has Orings and is really tight. Shaft doesnt turn easily like the one I took out. I hope that means the oil seals are tight!

I went back to my original dealer to buy the PSU. Newer farmers coop dealer kept not returning my calls, mechanic not at work today, etc. They do more parts volume. Part already back yesterday. Getting it today.

It's good to have a decent dealer, who at least returns your phone calls. The dealer that's the closest to me is high priced. I just bought a new engine oil filter, PN 006016642V91. It's the new filter Mahindra says I should use on a 2555 HST. It cost $45.94, which $15.75 was shipping and taxes. $30.19 is too much for an oil filter that looks like a Fram. Just like these PS units that leak, Mahindra needs to Americanize and get with the program.

Sounds good. A tight seal like a quad ring would have resistance. Good luck and I hope it last a long time.

Hi DirtHauler. I misunderstood you. My mistake. I found several websites that had a quad ring that fit the measurements I came up with. I was hoping to find a better rotary seal than a quad ring. When I worked at the nuclear plant, we had seal training. They actually had seal manufacturer reps teach the classes. These reps had some great info and I just remember them saying, quad rings were not your seal of choice for a rotary shaft. Well so far, I can't find a rotary seal that will fit. I would have to machine the opening inside the case to a larger diameter. That wouldn't be big problem. There's a local machine shop that could do this. I just need to buy the seal. I've been waiting for a guy, who runs a hydraulic business, to call me with some advice, but he seems to have taken a vacation. I saw this website. Quad ring 212 looks close, maybe right on. Standard Size Charts for Quad-Ring(R) Seals and X-Ring Seals Good luck!

WOW! Well like everything else in this country that you "have to use or have" the cost is inflated. I'll bet they're making little to no profit on these "new" filters. I just bought 4 of the "old" type "500 hr." oil filters at $25.00 each with free shipping via USPS. If you haven't installed that "new" filter yet, I'd take it down to a NAPA parts store (or the like), have them measure it and I'll bet they'd have a NAPA Gold, WIX or a Donaldson etc. filter. I buy and use the NAPA Gold air filters, primary and secondary, and are a little less expensive than the "factory name brand".

Hi DirtHauler. Thanks for your thoughts. No, I haven't installed it yet. I was thinking the same thing you said about doing a filter hunt. My brother said NAPA will do this. I'm sure there is a match out there. I was going to take the new filter to ACE Hardware and see what the thread size is. They have large metric taps. I assume it's metric, maybe not? There could be a John Deere filter that would fit. Their engines are all foreign made. If I find something that works, I'll post it. Did you check out that quad ring I posted?

To close this thread out for me, I bought HSU and installed it. No leaks but R and L were reversed. Fixed that. Started another thread to describe HSU replacement

I hope your new HSU last forever and never leaks. I'm still playing around with my unit, waiting for seal companies to get to me. They seem to be in no hurry.

New one certainly feels tighter. I thought about shipping you my old one and the two seals I bought. One of my sons in law is a mechanical engineer and a grandson is pretty mechanically minded. I may see if they want to try putting it back together. Keep us up to date on either thread

Thanks for thinking of me. Don't throw it away, but keep it and try to get it put back together. I'm still looking for a different seal type to replace the quad ring. I have talked to many seal tech people and all of them say a quad ring is not the type of seal for this application. One guy said it was probably used because they are cheap and will just last long enough to get out of the warrantee. I hope your new HSU last. Maybe SINJIN made the quad ring out of better material than the original seal ring. My quad ring was swollen or larger than is should have been. So this I know, is a big problem and hence the leaks. Stay in touch and good luck with the new HSU.
