5 and half HOURS? How many driveways do you plow? 2 gallons over that much time is not bad at all though!
5 including the group mail box at the corner. 2 of them are real short, the mail boxes, it takes longer to road the tractor there than it does to clean them out. The old guy around the corner has the most area to do. My place is the most time consuming, as I need to pick up the snow and relocate it.
So that's where all our snow has gone this year! We have had 2 plowable storms this year. 8" in November and 7" two weeks ago. We're set for another 6" tomorrow. We frequently have 60" of snow a season. Of course, I really think it is my fault. I bought a new to me snowblower for the back of my tractor last Spring.
Ahhh, but when you are dressed properly it is so enjoyable to be outside in the fresh air. One thing is for sure... There are no rattle snakes waiting to attack (see the current "rural living" thread). I'll take snow for a "few" months of the year over tornados, hurricanes, oppressive heat, or attacking critters.
We are promised a foot on Wednesday - sure hope it comes through!
Exactly. The best cure for SAD (seasonal affective disorder) also seems to be getting outside. Find a dang way to enjoy the outdoors no matter what the weather. Cooped up indoors for 6+ months... no bueno. The problem down here in the southeast part of the state, is that the snow goes away quite often, and then you're left with cloudy, muddy, or often yet still quite cold and icy days, where it just kinda sucks to be outdoors, no matter what you're into.
We've got a little blizzard happening up here today. Seems we need to get out and have some fun in it!
