Glock 43

True words. When we had a skunk problem a few years ago (spent 10 days in an apartment while deskunksmelling the house) I shot everything I trapped with a 3" magnum #4 buckshot with 41 22cal pellets. Figured it was the same as shooting each one 41 times with a 22 rifle.

Gave me a great sense of satisfaction.

It did make a heck of a mess to clean up. Had to throw away four traps, four sets of gloves, and two sweatshirts after dispatching three skunks and a recently sprayed possum.

A 3” magnum buckshot for a skunk in a trap? Do I detect an anger/revenge issue here? That’s funny. Bet that was a smelly mess, but I’ll grant you that the skunk died quickly. Guess you taught those skunks a lesson!

Wow!, you DID have a mess there.

The insurance adjuster told of another couple that were gone for a month and the skunks GOT IN THE VENTS of their house. He said they, and the insurance company, would have been better off if the house had burned to the ground. New vents, new central unit, new everything except plumbing. Said the woman cried every time he talked to her. Took them months to get back in.

WOW, this has got way off topic. MY FAULT.

Stopped at another gun store today. Nearly traded but have two more to go to. Was with my 94-year old mother who took me out for lunch and since she was driving I didn't argue when she wanted to go home. According to her if it goes bang then I should be happy with it and not waste more money.

Wife will take her 92-year old father out for lunch tomorrow. And he will probably drive.

I have to get him out and let him shoot his guns soon.

Here ya go -

GLOCK G43X SUBCOMPACT 9MM 10+1 (Auction ID: 14261704, End Time : Feb. 28, 2019 21:00:00) - eGunner

You yourself can own a 43x handled by none other than the steel ringer himself.

Note, have never used egunner thus cannot vouch for ones ability to bid/win a firearm for $2.75. and yes, I am aware of how penny auctions work.
Purchased a glock 43X today with the ameri-glo night sites. 50 rounds down the pipe today flawless so far with cheap 9mm ammo.Further testing required.Love the feel of the pistol.

The first night when that one sprayed under the house was horrible. I had to go back in to get my keys and billfold and even with my nose pinched shut and my hand over my mouth I could taste the smell. I kid you not.

I hate them with a passion.

If you ever have to shoot one don't listen to people when they say to shoot them in the head and they wont spray. YES, THEY WILL. Shoot them from the side about the hip joint of the hind leg. And use a shotgun with no less than #2shot. Never used 00 Buck because I was afraid it wouldn't mess up the nerves and muscles enough. Trust me, I have experience at this. The past five years I have shot four.

Mine got off the Ford 4600 when we finished bush hogging five years ago at 89 and said it was the last year for her. She still gets the tractor out and drives to the back of the farm on it but her knees hurt her getting up and down on the tractor.

I have a couple of 9mm, but haven't shot them in years, I use to shoot Cor Bon. Any recommendations for my G43.

Actually it is. Do you use silencers? 300 BLK and .45 ACP regularly travel at subsonic speeds (around 1100 FPS). So it really depends on the application. I use supersonic and subsonic rounds in multiple calibers subsonic mostly for fun. That said, I guarantee no one wants to be shot with a subsonic round, even if it is a 9mm. With regards to self defense capabilities, shots on target are what count. We need to stop quibbling over cartridges and start thinking about more training.

This is what's so wrong with internet discussion.

Were we at all talking about suppressors?

The topic was entirely about efficacy of 9mm vs some other cartridge. One person said a particular cartridge was more effective because it was supersonic. The speed of sound is NOT a contributor here. Bullet velocity is a contributor here, but no as a comparison against the speed of sound.

Context means something.

Actually the topic is a Glock 43..

Ha, derp, and the 43 is a 9mm so cartridge type is germane.
