72" snow blower and 35 hp?

I can't picture how to flip the tires in or out to change width. I am pretty sure as it sits now it is about 6' wide. Tractor data says rear width 62 and rear tread 49 for 4wd model I have. I been using 6' box blade, which seems about the the width. The tractor doesn't live with with me, I'll have to measure

Not familar with the quick hitch. All I have is the box blade. I leave it on, since it is PIA to put on. Plus I use it a a lot. I use it like a brush hog to clear sapplings and debris on new trails

=========================================================================================

The quick hitch lets you pick up a three point hitch mounted implement without having to fight with the lower links and the top link of the mule as they are always stationary and mounting points quickly line up with a three point hitch. The box blade will no longer be a PIA to put on as long as you can reach the hitch with the quick hitch.

You really need a front end loader. The snow blower will be useless next week when the temperatures get into the thirties, the roof sheds, and the impacted snow refreezes into a concrete like matrix.

The box blade may help a little, but tractor front loader arms are weak and spindly compared to construction equipment arms like you see on front end loaders and skid steer loaders.

Smaller skid steer loaders like my old Deere 240 are useless in deep snow or ice.

Blowers on small tractors have insufficient height to be effective in deep snow. They can work, with a lot of backing and filing.

Look at what the county road commission uses to clear deep snow: road graders with vee plows and large front end loaders with huge blowers on front, or the iconic Oshkosh snow blower.

Somebody pointed out the dual rotor snowblower. These come up on Craigslist occasionally, but are suitable for a full sized farm tractor, not a CUT.

My little Kioti did a admirable job after last weekend’s snowfall in open areas, but was no match for the five foot hardened plow banks in the yard.

I had a Kioti DK35 w/a 72” blower and it did very well on the light stuff but was not the rig for heavy deep snow. I moved larger piles by pushing them back with the plow. I needed to keep ahead of it during heavy snow with the blower or it would get out of hand. Here it is:

Now with 88 hp the 1000 rpm 96” blower works on everything so far. I can even fill the neighbors driveway 200’ away. When I back into a big heavy pile I need to use the creeper gear, so a smaller tractor may not have the gearing to move slow enough without stalling.

Another data point:
30 PTO hp
74" Farm King (buehler) blower
hydrostat

Couldn't imagine trying to run this blower this year without a hydro. As others have posted, you need to creep into it or break it up first. I have broken a few auger shear pins by backing into hard snow too fast. Usually bogs the engine.

Otherwise, this has done the trick this year.

Finn1, I don't think the 2120 is a compact tractor. Not massive. But 4500 lbs without loader or filled tires. Not one if the little Kubota that have become popular.

I run a 72 inch 3 pt blower with 30 hp at the pto. It's been a good setup especially this year, one of the worst winters in northern MN I've seen in years. Speed is definitely key though, you have to creep through the really deep packed stuff. I use it on my 1/5 mile driveway doing half to 3/4 swipes at a time so I don't have to go as slow. Mine is a agriease brand, very simple setup, no bells and whistles, less stuff to break or go wrong. It's worth it's weight in gold for all the snow it's thrown this year alone. Between the blower and FEL it's a great snow removal tool20181110_142553.jpeg

Same here, mine worked hard this winter and I think paid for itself in this one season alone..

My rear tires are 6 foot wide. 8 if I flip them, bowl is pointing inward.

Hate the 4wd on fords, how you you have reengaging every time you shift.

About 1980 my grandpa bought a brand new Ford, 1st time he used it he got stuck clearing his driveway. He called a neighbor for help and he came over with his Kubota and pulled him out. He called the dealer and told him to come get the Ford, I bet it didn’t have 1 hour on it and bought a Kubota L245DT. I loved that Kubota.
