Buying Advice New L3560 Limited and Standard Versions

Sounds like I should be able to add what I want when it comes time. The wiring harness being there is a huge relief.

Shout out to Neil for making that video and clearing things up. Looks easy enough to add back the options a purchaser cares about. Good to see the wiring harness is the same as the regular Grand L.

The one good thing about it is I don't mind it not having the lights because there are so many LED lights that are way better than the factory lights anyway.

But to me, $2500 isn't enough to make me jump up and buy it over the regular version. For that amount I would just buy the regular version that is already full featured. Then I can just jump in and go to work without touching it.

If you feel like saving about 1K after parts and labor are both factored in isn't worth it then I don't know what to tell you.

By getting this version I've saved about 2K, as the only "put-back" I've done is the lights.

All depends what your time is worth to put it all back on I guess. I just don't have a lot of free time away from work.

I just think they could have done better. The prices of these tractors just keeps going up and up for not much change. It's making me like my antique tractors more and more. Cheap, never break and no emissions crap.

Again, if that's your feeling, that's fine. The parts cost alone is only about 1K. I figure another 500 or so for labor for the dealer to do the work and I'm still leaving the lot with an extra thousand in my pocket, if I fully re-optioned the tractor vs. buying the standard edition. I don't need cruise control, a rh step, 12 volt outlet, etc, so that's even more money for a grapple or other attachment instead of extras that I don't need-or, in the case of the side mirrors, don't even want.

If this isn't the tractor for you, then it's not. But I fail to see how this is a bad deal in general. Is it still expensive? Yes, it is. But it's also a capable cabbed tractor with enough weight to do a good bit of work, and has what's widely regarded as the best hydro trans in the industry.

Oh ya, no offence to anyone. Don't get me wrong, we'd all like to keep $500 or a grand in our own pocket. This just didn't excite me I guess. I think they could have done better that's all.

That they did anything at all is frankly amazing. They should have released economy cabs for standard L and/or MX tractors instead. Nobody's sure why this model exists. It doesn't make sense for Kubota to do this.

It makes sense as a stopgap measure. Developing a good OEM quality cab isn't cheap. Developing & stocking parts for & training support for an entire new design of a machine is hideously expensive.

Cutting some trim off an existing model is cheap & easy to support while giving them a foothold onto a segment they had kind of priced themselves out of. At some point I'd expect them to come out with a mini-grand that's half way between a B & a Grand L, probably around the size of an economy L. But this let's them take their time to do that & loose less market share at that point in the mean time.

Interesting note, dealer says there is no wiring for the front work lights. They had to do some wire work. Neil hadn't popped the canopy off the cab in the above video and never said for sure it was there, but still a little disappointed that he sounded so confident in the video without confirming.

I wonder what other pieces are missing off the harness?
