Yea, Ted, strange. Glad you feel better.
Getting anxious, but email from dealer said they are awaiting new remote, so I’m guessing end of week ☹️. Pics for sure.

Jay, not bad for a local small place. I like the Porter
Spam is indeed popular here and I partake at times myself.
Being born in Maine I eagerly looked forward to great seafood in Hawaii, sadly, was disappointed. Yes, some great ocean fish, which I love, but not much else as far as shellfish etc. But I make do.

61° down from a high of 79°. Winds gusting to 25+ mph. I had shorts on T-shirt on. Not anymore.
Computer is going to HP for repair. They claim a component is bad. I think they reflashed BIOS with corrupted file. Oh well it will get fixed.
Ordered new seal for wife's Apple Watch. Apple wants $270 for any repairs. I can replace it for less than $200 for a newer model. Seal is $7.

David- Thanks for your feedback on the seafood. I/We are familiar with processed "meat stuff" beyond easy description, but Spam®, JimmyDean® stuff, scrapple, and kishka have been sampled enough to probably think about a referral to a cardiologist at some point.

I/We ate 2 Hebrew National hot dogs tonight with sauerkraut, horseradish mustard on a bun + a mix of BBQ leftover/new baked beans tonight. Memories of earlier/simpler times. Beers helped.;)

BoSox winning for now......

Ok, you guys talking about 'meat stuff', one of my favorites is "Taylor Pork Roll". I haven't had any in 25 years, but I still crave it every now and then. I don't even know if they still make it.... I 'm gonna google it now.....

Good Morning!!!! 80F @ 8:00AM. Partly cloudy. Hot. High around 100F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.

Good news about the little girl, Lynn. Still a tragedy losing a leg that young, but what a spirit.

If I saw anything that looked like that in my yard, Kyle, it would get the shovel treatment.

Good to hear from you, Randy. Small steps like that is still progress! How's the food in that jail?

Fussed around moving flammables away from the house and out buildings, and consolidating waste oil buckets and getting them out to some bare dirt where they won't do any harm if a fire comes. Then fired up the tractor and tried out a Brush Grubber I purchased almost a year ago and never used. Wrapped around the burnt stems of the sage and rosemary plants and threading a spud bar through the small eye and lifting with the forks on the FEL worked pretty well. Got the area around the pump house and water tank cleaned up, so today I'll tackle the front of the house where there are also some live bushes that I mistakenly planted too close to the building. Too bad they have to go, but at least I'll save some electricity by not irrigating this year.

The winds have died down so it looks like they'll let us have electricity for a while. I used E0 gasoline in the generator, and shut off the fuel petcock so the carb would empty, so it's ready to go again for the next time. Also installed two air vents into the pair of absolutely awful Briggs & Stratton plastic fuel containers I bought the day the evacuation orders were lifted; they were the only ones I could find. Then broke the flapper doors and springs out of the spouts so they'd work without breaking a wrist. They'll ride into town with me later this week to get filled, along with another 5 gallon can or two.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start!

Have you looked at the EZ-Pour fuel spouts? Tractor Supply sells them here. They have a standard version that, with the snap vent, can drain a 5 gallon can in about 60 seconds. They also have a Hi Flow version that cuts that to about 30 seconds.

+1 on the Brush Grubber. I've had mine for about 10 years.

I've also got the jaw version but use the chain one more often

Good morning all,

30 this morning with a clear blue sky, no wind. (and no snow!) It has been cold and unfortunately the alfalfa got froze. Meaning the growth will be stunted. Only way to correct it is to cut/bale. Let it start over. I do not want to cut now, to much chance of it getting rained on to many times before I can get it sold. I'll wait.

Update on the little girl that had her leg amputated;

The doctors were able to get ahead of the infection and she is doing fine now. She was in a medically induced coma, she is now awake. Parents have told her everything that happened. Keep in mind she is only 10 and will have a tough time ahead of her, but her response when finding out her leg had been removed was,
"now I only have to find 1 sock in the sock drawer".

Thanks for all your prayers and best wishes for her.

Prayers for all, have a nice day.

Thanks for the update. Still sad. Over a scratch?

Good Morning. It's 76°F and partly cloudy here this morning. Forecast is for only 87°F this afternoon with 20% chance of rain. It didn't make the forecasted 98°F yesterday ..... only made 96°F.

I was able to get most of our overgrown yard mowed yesterday. We built the house in the middle of one of our pastures 10 years ago and have not done much with the grass, which is a mix of native grass and Bahia. With last weeks rains (and my laziness) ten days growth took time to cut. When it gets this high I mow it with the tractor and rear finish mower. It still looks crappy after a single pass as the mower leaves poorly cut areas where the tractor tires smash down the long Bahia stems. I'll either recut with the RFM or mow it all with the ZT, at right angles to original cut.

Kyle .... Assassin bugs? I'll have to ask our Agri-Life agent about them. Sorry your son got bit by one.

For now, here's TAMU's take on them.

Wheel bugs and other assassin bugs - Insects in the City

Drew .... sorry to hear about the passing of your friend. RIP.

RNG ... good luck with your power issues and you get your Solar sorted soon.

Hope everyone has a great start to their week.

Prayers to all.

I read that TAMU agrilife report, and all I can say is that guy has not been pierced by one yet is my guess....

Put some Pastora or Cimarron on that bahia in the early spring.

Good Morning Everyone!!!. A mostly sunny 45ºF for today’s low; 72ºF presently with increasing cirrus clouds heralding in some rain later. The NWS has issued a Special Weather Statement/Hazardous Weather for heavy rain/possible T-storms. I had some serious respiratory challenges last night probably due to all the dust I kicked re-mowing the “lawn.” It brought back bad memories of my BOOP. Luckily the lungs cleared with the help of OTC cough medicine, Mr. Bear returned last night and drug the ashcan towards the woods before giving up unsuccessful. Today I am stiff and sore in all the wrong places.

Horrible news about Roberto Ortiz in the Dominican Republic. I am happy to learn that the surgery for his bullet wound was successful.

BoSox really do suck so far this year. This year they would probably lose the world series in (South) Williamsport, PA (my hometown). I can not watch the games; it hurts to just listen.

Rick- Nice place and property. Thanks for sharing.

Thomas- Every day here is another gift offered; luckily most days I am able to both perceive and appreciate in the moment. I think I’ll be using this hinged knee brace lot longer than anticipated. It works.

RNG- Thanks for sharing the links about PG&E and the brush grubber. I could use something like the grubber; better than the chain that I use.

BEF- From many personal bouts of pneumonia it takes a really long time to really fully recover especially regaining one’s strength and endurance. Take care.

Don- I am happy to read that you only heard that tornado and not experience it.

Kyle- I am sorry to read about your son. I hope his bite would heals soon and w/o complications.

Lynn- What a brave little girl. I love her attitude. Generally children are far more resilient than we adults assume. My + thoughts, wishes, prayers, and hopes for her and her family, Thanks for sharing.

Drew- If I remembered er correctly I read a couple of articles that.reported that 95% of the stinkbugs in NE got wiped out by the early Spring warming and then the following freezing temperatures.

Ted- I am sorry to read about your sudden illness. I hope you fully recover later today.

Randy- Thanks for checking in. Am happy to read that you are making progress. Small steps are great victories. I hope the docs can figure out what’s driving the orthostatic hypotension. I hope you’ll be talking to a discharge planner soon.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Thanks for all the kind thoughts for my son. His teacher this past year(3rd grade), just sent us some emails telling us how much she enjoyed teaching him. I told her my son was sad the first day of summer, when he realized he'd be changing schools and not get to see her everyday.

Jay, FWIW, Boston is always the Astros nemesis in the post season....but I still like 'em better than the yankmees. :) So, do you have a strong accent? Or can you pass for a Bostonian?

I would like to thank catfever or CWB for sharing their cool air with us down here. Wow, it's only 80 at sundown and lower humidity. Very nice.

LS, hope your strange feeling goes away for good.

Sodamo, are you running low on patience? I would be. ;)

I hate buffing and waxing. Not my favorite task. Would almost rather go to the dentist.

Ron, is that your new computer?

Austin Texas has a spam party. IIRC it is called spam o rama....they also have an Eeyore's birthday party.

I need a haircut. Maybe tomorrow at lunch.

At work, starting to build a benchtop version of a contraption that may eventually go on satellites.

While our yellow squash plants did fairly well, our cucumbers are struggling. My kids left a nice batch of picked green beans in the garden. They were already all dried up....all that work for nothing. They are scared to pick now since the assassin bug.
