Do YOU believe that if you're killed by "an act of God", that God was fine with letting you die for a reason? If the answer is yes, why does God kill innocent people that have nothing to do with him?

Absolutely nothing. However, you yourself stated that you agreed with the statment "I can see a distinct difference between suffering caused by reckless behavior and acts of God."

I'm asking you to explain the difference between suffering caused by reckless behavior and why God would kill innocent people, to which you agreed HE could or would do (God doing the dirty work of killing and not some stupid person).

Personally, I could never understand why God would kill a innocent child...

That said, per the original post, some could argue that it was their God that allowed the door to be open which allowed the dog to get into the house and God allowed the child to be bit in the first place. Some would argue that nothing happens without God's consent.

Who knows why they’re are so many children suffering in places like Shriners, who knows why trees fall on people, and on and on..
I think there are times people use the phrase act of god in reference to natural things that happen and that’s why I agreed to it..

If people stopped making excuses for their own and others foolishness there wouldn’t be so many dog attack’s..

I'm still trying to figure out how that relates to A-holes who let their dogs run free and terrorize the neighborhood; the point of my comment, which you then quoted when you went off on this tangent.

I also stand behind my earlier statement; it's too bad that we can't discipline the owners who raise their pets to be anti-social.

I have a low tolerance for "animal rights".

When dogs screw up, they get put down. No second chance. And I'm sorry for the first offence. I hope the young lady makes a full recovery in appearance, in function and in mind.

Terror is a terrible thing.

Sigarms,it's unlikely your values and beliefs could be swayed here in a few paragraphs but if you find yourself facing peer judgement for a crime in the USA,I advise against using "bad things happen to good people"as a defense. Christians spent centuries tempering their criminal law with God's law and the vast majority approve of the product. There are groups that share your view but I doupt they fail to recconize a wide margin of human responsability between the tree and dog doing harm.

The links you provided, if you look, you'll find a story of a innocent child being killed by pure dumb luck of being in the wrong spot at the wrong time, with no one to blame. Apologies for not explaining that.

How many people here, on a "country forum" do you suppose

1 - Other than "working dogs" protecting livestock, actually supervise their dogs when their dogs are outside all the time OR have
them secure in a fenced in area?
2 - Have their dogs spayed or neutered?
3 - Have their dogs rabies and all other vaccinations up to date?
4 - Have their dogs on heatworm preventive medication?

I'd be willing to bet that the majority of people here can't answer yes to all 4 questions above.

And yes, I completely agree with you that it's too bad we can't discipline owners. I'm guessing the only way you can do it is by civil action if someone gets hurt.
