So im building a dump trailer/cart and my cart is dumping and lowering way to fast. I'm using a 12V Double Acting Hydraulic Power pack for all the Hydraulics. Is there any way to fix this?

A bigger cylinder or a flow reducer.

I’ve never had the need to do that but I think it would work. I think you’d only need one valve since of the fluid can’t move out of the cylinder fast more can’t move in fast. What kind of a setup are you using to be too fast? All of my dump trucks are slow.

How big is the cart? I struggled making a flatbed truck dump with a 4 or 4.5 bore cylinder. My one ton dump truck is a 5” bore cylinder.

only about 1.50 yard and it only takes about 5 seconds to dump.

For raise feature I would suggest a priority flow control. This style of valve bleeds the excess flow to tank.

A simple needle valve or orifice requires the pump to be at full pressure and dump the excess flow across the relief to tank. Using these for raise will result in excess heat, and various raise times depending on load in dump trailer.

how can i plumb the hoses to the reservoir or does it go somewhere else?

how much would that slow it down?

2 inch cylinder would be around 9 seconds vs 5 seconds for 1 1/2 inch

Since the picture of power unit shows D03 style valve you can purchase stack modules with priority flow control that mount between the valve and subplate no extra plumbing required

Note: if gravity down this will not change down time

1.5 yards of wet dirt or gravel is probably 4,000 pounds. I doubt you’ll dump that with that cylinder. Have you tested it?

I have six dumps fully heaped with wet clay and not a problem or even a slow down.

I would like a 10 to 15 second rise.
Im thinking more about a Needle Valve with the price of a new cylinder.
Can you tell me more about that stack module that would work?
My setup is power up and down.

Adding a needle valve will:
1)ruin your pump
or
2)ruin your battery
or
3) both

Install a bigger cylinder. The cylinder should be WAY cheaper than a new pump unit.

even with the stack modules with priority flow control option?

You said needle valve, we replied pump damage.
