So im building a dump trailer/cart and my cart is dumping and lowering way to fast. I'm using a 12V Double Acting Hydraulic Power pack for all the Hydraulics. Is there any way to fix this?
For raise feature I would suggest a priority flow control. This style of valve bleeds the excess flow to tank.
A simple needle valve or orifice requires the pump to be at full pressure and dump the excess flow across the relief to tank. Using these for raise will result in excess heat, and various raise times depending on load in dump trailer.
Put a 2” diameter cylinder on it and be done.
how much would that slow it down?
only about 1.50 yard and it only takes about 5 seconds to dump.
1.5 yards of wet dirt or gravel is probably 4,000 pounds. I doubt you値l dump that with that cylinder. Have you tested it?
2 inch cylinder would be around 9 seconds vs 5 seconds for 1 1/2 inch
Since the picture of power unit shows D03 style valve you can purchase stack modules with priority flow control that mount between the valve and subplate no extra plumbing required
Note: if gravity down this will not change down time
I would like a 10 to 15 second rise.
Im thinking more about a Needle Valve with the price of a new cylinder.
Can you tell me more about that stack module that would work?
My setup is power up and down.
Pump damage is all but a certainty.

even with the stack modules with priority flow control option?
