How do you carry your chainsaw ?

/ How do you carry your chainsaw ? #131
I gave up trying to mount one on my big Deere where it wouldn't be in the way or get torn up so I made this to mount one on my Mule. It's made from scrap 3/8" polyethylene dump truck bed liner. Easy on the chain and doesn't rattle.

I have a new tractor so I had to find a new place to mount my saw. I decided to mount it to my quick hitch.

My old tractor had it mounted to the ROPs - but this one has too many things in the way to put it there again.

Now that I have a new electric Stihl, I need to fab a mount for it. Love this thread.

I have been thinking for years about mounting my chainsaw somewhere on the tractor, and this summer I finally mounted my chainsaw on the tractor.

I added a platform to the Box Blade w/ 1/4" plate (which serves as weight using using the Box Blade), added my poor mans grapple for skidding logs, and I also added an ATV storage box.

Nice, but how do you carry your:

2 cycle gas - (Optional depending on duration)
bar oil - (Optional depending on duration)
Scrench - Needed it only 10% of the time, but 100% of the time if you DON'T bring it.
Log Peavy - Needed 85% of the time if I want to keep chain out of dirt, or
Hand File and Stump Vise
Wedges - Needed only 10% of the time, but 100% of the time if you DON'T bring them or a 2nd saw.
Hammer - Needed for wedges and vise.
Chain & or Cable
Cutting Chaps - Optional, depending on how lucky one feels. "You have to ask yourself 'Do I feel lucky?", Well do you punk?" - Dirty Harry
Helmet or safety glasses or earplugs, facemask - Same as above.
Gloves

It's VERY rare for me to only need a chainsaw when I need a chainsaw.
Personally I find it necessary to bring along a 30 gallon tote that holds ALL of the above (except the cable).

Not arguing, different strokes for different folks, but how do you guys get away with it?

Ha! CobyRupert, you've been reading my mail!

While I'm willing to take my chances on some of those items, bar oil and a gallon of fuel mix are pretty much necessities 100% of the time for me. And if I have the grapple on the FEL, I don't even have the bucket to hold the fuel can. :)

That's why I've procrastinated for years in adding a chainsaw carrier to any of the tractors.

BUT, dragoneggs raises a great point about the new lithium battery operated saws! :scratchchin: I have the HF Lynxx 14", which I love. A spare battery and a quart of bar oil can be tucked in a coat pocket or behind the seat even on an open-station tractor! I can do a lot of cutting on two fresh batteries.

So, now I'm back to thinking about adding a holder to at least one of the machines. :)

Bar wrench and files are stored in the tractor tool box. There are also sets in each pickup, my four wheeler, and another in my shed by my vise. Hard hat is on my head, and I have my chaps on when headed into the woods. Axe and wedges, gas and b&c oil are carried in the bucket if I didn't leave them in the woods yesterday.
Cable is on the winch spool, chains are hanging on the same implement.

I should have walked out to get the peavey on Sunday, I wouldn稚 have needed to buy a new saw today.

Also in the pouch of my chaps is a basic tourniquet. I hope and pray that I never need to use it.

We use saw-box to carry saw supplies. But not the helmets and other PPE.
