Not I Mossy, not I. I maintain them properly and don't abuse them but love them, no way. Sometime, 'caress' a hot exhaust manifold and tell me it 'feels good'......

I really did enjoy working with my machines at my old job. In particular, the laser typesetters. I had a boss that couldn't get one of them to load film one night. He tried for an hour, and finally called me in from home. I walked in and he was just angry as heck. Stupid machines. I hate these things, etc.... I walked over, re-loaded the film can just as he did numerous time, looked my boss directly in the eye as I gave the machine a big kiss on the control panel while asking it "Is he being mean to you?" hit the LOAD button, and away she went. My boss looked me in the eye, turned around, went to his office, got his coat and went home without saying a word. :laughing:

Can't say I have ever kissed a machine. Makes me think of that movie "west world". Just saw when looking for a clip, that's it's another good old thing recently hijacked, to be ruined.

I am also very fond of my pocket knife that I carry daily, a couple old hammers bring great joy, an old rowboat, the steps to my deck (the first set of steps I ever built, and they turned out just right). I feel closer to those things than most people. :laughing:
Wife and kids, in-laws, siblings and a few friends would get preferential treatment over the tools and toys, but they are about it. :laughing:

I reread Moss post. Not once did he say he loved his machines. I thought he did a very good job of describing the same fondness I feel for my machinery. I too believe that is recipricated back to me in mental health.
