One thing I was advised in that is accurate, this thing is a rocket. Fastest truck I have owned. That 2.7 is impressive. The next test is how it handles are 3 horse trailer, weighs about 3k lbs empty, about 6k with three horses and tack.

From what I've been told by a friend with a camper that is heavier is that you will not be lacking for power, he also drags side by side on a trailer behind the camper.

If you have the "Select-Shift" transmission, try "Sport" mode for giggles. And use "Tow/Haul" when pulling your trailer. The 2.7 is also an incredible tow engine, with all that low end torque.
I know your horse trailer is a bit heavier (6K vs. 5K) and has more aero drag than my tandem flatbed with my BX, but you will still be amazed at the ease the 2.7 pulls it with.

I believe the ecoboost engines require premium fuel when towing....check the manual.

I bought myself a new 2015 F150 extended cab on Christmas Eve 2015. It has the 2.7 V-6. I never expected this thing would run circles around the V-8 F150's I've had up to that point, but It does. Back in the day I had a 67 Caprice with the 385 HP 427. It was a dog compared to this truck. If I have the cruise on and come up behind someone putting along I will pass them. I've never even floored the accelerator in this truck, not because I'm scared of the power, but because I don't need to. The only vehicle I've ever been in that would put you back in the seat farther was a 69 Dodge Super Bee with a hemi!!!
Even with all this power I still have an average MPG of 21.5, and I don't baby it. The only thing I don't like about it, is the engine kill when you stop. I did discover that when you come to a complete stop, ease back on the brake pedal a little and the engine won't die. I typically forget to hit the stop delete button until my first stop.:laughing:
Do I love this truck, absolutely.

Running empty , great mileage. Pulling a trailer, mileage drops considerably. Still has lots of go power, but you have to feed it. My favorite argument with the small, high hp engine crowd was always " If small engines are so great, why don't they put them in big trucks?" Have a 2018 150 Eco 2.7.
