M7060 Rops 50 hour service... $1100?!

I have considered getting a pair of high pressure filter housing that would take 5 micron filters with no bypassing.
It wouldn't be too hard to polish the hydraulic fluid using the tractors own hydraulic pump.
Maybe clean it before draining and cleaning screens and changing filters but then I want an external pump to filter it as it goes back in again.
Just something that has been wondering thru my mind on and off again over the years.

L3560 50 hour service from my dealer is $339 if I remember correctly.
The Grands & economy Ls manuals specify changing hydraulic filters but not the hydraulic oil at 50 hours. I have no idea what the Ms manuals specify.

Back in the old days (my L3710) the recommendation for hydros was hydraulic oil at 50 hours. I did not pay attention when I bought my L5740, only remembered discussions here, and ended up replacing the hydraulic fluid, then went to record it in my manual and discovered my expensive mistake. Didn’t make same mistake on my L6060. The L6060 computer is now reminding me it’s been 400 hours since I changed engine oil so that will happen this week. Not sure if the other services are in the machines service reminders - they are on my M7 and I worked them off one by one. Machines can be pests like that - my Cat mini-excavator, bought used from a dealer rental fleet, has a huge red decal reminding me it lives on grease.

I encountered this issue when I did my 50 Hour service for my M7060. I ultimately contacted Kubota so that I would have it in writing. They confirmed whats been mentioned here previously:

Changing 60 + qts of fluid at 50 hours is beyond stupid. I can see a filter change for sure but there is a way to run that fluid thru a clean system.

Maybe, maybe not.

Though I have not been able to conclusively confirm this, I have heard that at least some Kubota models are shipped with without SUDT2 in the sump in order to save cost. The theory being that the oil is going to be changed at 50 hours so that the lower cost oil is adequate.

In any event, I found considerable manufacturing debris (metal) on the filter magnets when I changed the transmission/hydraulic oil in my M9960 at 50 hours, and the oil that came out was not the same color as the SUDT2 that I put in.

At 50 hours on my 2009 Kubota M6040 I changed EVERY fluid & filter on the tractor, myself. The total material cost - $570. The biggest challenge - find some kind of tub that would fit under the tractor and hold 16+ gallons of hydraulic fluid. My wife was hostile when it was the Tupperware "tub" she stored some of here homemade quilts in. Soo....it cost me a new Tupperware tub also.

Conditions have changed - my Owners Manual recommends first fluid changes at 50 hours.

Bingo.

I used an old galvanized wash tub. After draining, the tub was filled so close to the lip that I could not slide it out to the side without spilling it so I needed to ladle a few gallons out.

Kubota has changed the 50 hour service on a lot of tractors. I think they all used to spec the 50 hour hydraulic oil change and they have done away with it on some. I own a JD now and its the same thing, they used to spec a full change and now just the filter and clean the screen. I did that on my JD 2025 a few months ago and ended up just changing the hydraulic oil also, you would have to catch it and dump it back in. There was quite a bit of crap on the sump strainer also. I think due to the expense they have tried to do away with that 50 hour full service setup to make it look like service is cheaper.
