Having a blast with our new M62

The Kubota TLBs are real Swiss Army knives, and built like a tank. Incredibly handy and very precise controls.

I will say that our M59 is a bit of a fuel hog, although I don't begrudge its thirst. I know that big heavy HSTs always use more fuel, and in addition the M59 has an oversize hydraulic system - in fact. it has several of them. It can't help but use more fuel to constantly pumping that much fluid around. The upside is that it never lacks for power.

Maybe the M62 will be more economical on fuel. The M59 isn't all that bad on fuel consumption, it just isn't as economical as our old style manual gear shifting tractor with its single smallish hydraulic pump.

I don't even think about fuel usage on my L48.
I spill more beer than that.

The fuel usage of the M59 isn’t that bad. A lot less thirsty than my 310. The m59 will work circles around a 40-50 hp tractor with a loader. Burn more GPH for less time is a wash. Besides it’s quite minimal compared to the work done.

Thanx.
No it is hooked to the third function on the front end loader. This machine supplies 16gpm to the 3rd function, the backhoe thumb (can run a hammer or auger) and I think it is the same to the remotes.

I'm in love....... my M62 is being prepped for delivery and should be arriving any time... I have a ton of fence posts to put in on my property, any issues with running that auger on the front hydraulics, I was under the assumption from the Messicks video's that it was good for a grapple but not so much something high flow demand? If you've answered in this long thread, please ignore, I've just started reading.

I'm a new member, I'm on here and on the orangetractortalks forums, I look forward to learning lots from all of you much more experienced than I.

PS: Thank you for giving me an excuse to upgrade from a Toyota Tundra to a Dodge.. GIGGLE

Hey Mutzfarm, congratz!

Can you tell me if your hydraulics ever get hot enough that the casings could burn you, if you held onto the metal for say ..... 5-6 seconds? I'm running my M62 with a Landpride 12' batwing at around 2200rpm & after an hour or so I can begin to feel the heat rising up from behind the seat. The hydraulics are that hot! Of course thats running in M gear using both hi/lo speeds & the PTO engaged. The metal casings are so hot that it's painful to remove the 3pt. hitch from the back end...

I've checked all fluids & I'm good there, the radiator screen is a joke, everything gets past it & clogs the radiators. It's a real booger cleaning and requires a pressure washer & shop air. Someone mentioned about putting bigger radiators on or an additional hydraulic cooler. I think I might just try doing that, but was wondering if anyone else has noticed the heatsoak.

DAAAAMN that's a nice photo... thank you for sharing.

Thank you Richard.... it's on the way... so far just the 84" loader bucket, a 24" and a 12" backhoe buckets but wow, I have no doubt I'll have more attachments than shoes in no time. :)

I must say, this entire thread could a WIKI for this tractor, it's GREAT, I'm only on page 1 and have already learned more than I have from the dealer I bought it from... god bless you all for creating such an awesome orange community.

IMO, if Kubota just put the L series factory cab option on the M62, it would be the perfect machine! (Okay, maybe 10 more PTO hp while their at it )

OMG... that was the only thing I wished the M62 had when I ordered it... a cab, not an aftermarket but a K OEM....
