..........I'm a fan of the fiberglass shell trailers. The shell is the structure & the skin. The only weak or leak points are the windows & doors. They last for decades. Usually need a remodel at that point but are still solid.
Me, too. My molded fiberglass camper trailer is 15 years old and looks like new. No leaks, either. There some nice pickup campers made of molded fiberglass, as well.

That camper is for a truck with 8 foot long bed and that F150 may have a less than 6' bed. I had a 9.5' Lance 915 from 1999 until 2017 that I hauled on a 1997 SWR GMC 3500. I will saw that one can pull way more trailer camper than one can haul with a slide in camper. The 2800 pounds listed on that camper is typical dry weight, so when water, gear, propane and whatever else is in it its way over 3000 pounds. My Lance tag stated 2300 pounds and I scaled it several time and when ready to use it never weighed less than 3000 pounds. I'm not sure what size that camper crushing that F150 is but its close to mine and I'd guess it in close in weight too.

Funny, I don't recall ever seeing a Dually with a camper. I guess it's why guys used to buy a cap, throw in a mattress and call it a day. Sleep in a $39,00 Red Roof Inn when you need a hot shower. Cheaper than a days fuel pulling something.

I don't think that it's the weight so much as how far back the camper sets.
OK, so maybe it's both.
I like the comment
Just because someone can pass their driver's test it doesn't mean they should be trusted on public roads
Guys like that driver are why we need weigh wagons.

I'm sure people hauling or towing something are the least of the problem. Ever see "Worst Canadian Driver"? It simply boggles the mind how these people got a license.

As for Camper insert compared to camper. Insert takes up less space, has no drivetrain, tires or brakes. How many campers have just grown old, having little miles on them? Many , I would guess.

My neighbor has one along with what was a nice 3/4 ton GMC. About 10 years old setup and used once. Just sits there out in the weather.

I wonder what his tickets were for;
looks like he had brakes and lights.
License type maybe? CGVW rating?
