Power (Watts) is equal to Voltage times Amperage. The voltage over the pin will be almost zero. The power (heat) in the pin will be almost zero Watts. There is more resistance in the leads/clamps than the pin, that is what will heat up.

That is what I feared. I remember when we bought our JD with 640 loader. It featured cylinders which were "induction" welded. I never did find out what that process entails.

I see an issue with the nature of the stuck pin. Tight or corroded?. Some heat and persuasion will fix tight. Corroded enough and it might as well be welded.
I will never forget, many years ago I got a receiver trailer hitch and ball at the dump. My Dad and I spent the best part of a day and way too much cutting torch gas trying to get that thing apart. Eventually it was just getting destroyed and had just become a mission to get that thing apart. We did, but it was just all cut apart junk at that point. TOTAL loss! I mean in fairness, we didn't have a press, but certainly enough bangers!

Worst comes to worst he could cut the bushing from end to end. That would release the pin. Weld up the slice and install a new pin.
Or, given the apparent age of the machine, weld a cap back on the pin and run it as is. The pin bosses in the bucket are already worn from being the default pivot point for a long time. How much worse will it actually get given the amount of use it will see going forward?
