Thanks for the info on the 3pt quick attach.

I also like the Pat’s Easy Change. That is a much cheaper alternative.

I hate not talking face to face. My mistake reading the post. Yes, we had a survey and assessment done when buying the 20 acres. Then the bank let us use the original survey for the construction loan. Now we need a new survey and assessment for closing on the home mortgage. The survey that shows one acre with the house, septic, well house and road has been completed, and now we are waiting on the assessment. Hopefully get that done this week.

Sorry for my misunderstanding.

So what you needed was an "as built" survey for the new construction and a subdividing survey for the 1 acre.

Wow! ! ! We are finally closing on our house this Friday. Yay! ! ! I should be getting myself to the Kubota dealer in the next couple of weeks. I am leaning toward the L4701 due to budget reasons. I've even been considering used tractors, but the compacts hold their value so well, I keep thinking that I'm better off spending a little extra money on the new one.

I was talking to a neighbor and he told me about the Kubota he bought some years ago for his new property. He had a lot of upfront work to do, and realized after a year or two that the tractor was sitting in the barn way more than it was being used. He said that he now rents a tractor once a year to do the work he needs. I've read all the threads about the pros and cons of buying vs. renting, and I understand over the course of many years buying pays off. But wow, I am wondering if I am in the same situation that he was. A lot of upfront work, and then a lot less work after the first year or two. $35,000 is a lot of money to spend, to see the tractor and implements sit in the barn. I might have more work to do down the line than I realize, but that's hard to say. I've thought about going a bit smaller, like the L3901, to save a little money, but I've heard too many folks say, not to go too small. I've seen some real nice 2WD MX tractors at a great price, but everyone says don't get 2WD. One thing I do know is I have to get these pastures ready to sprig and seed for coastal by the spring, so New, Used or Rent. . . I gotta get a tractor and implements.

Go talk to Thomas Dickens at Texarkana tractor. About a year ago I was quoted $28,380 for the L4701 HST with the LA765 loader . Another $1500 would get you the MX4800

problem right now is trying to find the MX4800. Since they are not making them anymore, they are becoming scarce at the dealers. Two of the dealers I've been to, are out of them. they have the MX5200, but no 4800s. Tyler didn't have any and Athens was out. Texarkana is a bit far, as I would like to stay close to the dealer that I buy from.

If you use your tractor to mow, it will get used on a regular basis, if not, it might sit a lot.

We moved from NJ to NC we bought a property of 18.6 acres former tree farm with most still on property over grown and crowded out and are now out to be burned.Ive been an equipment operator in cranberry and blue berry farming used a JD 410 back hoe and JD excavators 490e and 160D in NJ now retired.Property in NC needed a tractor never used one like a back hoe I bought the Kobota L 4701 loader back hoe 4K pallet forks quick hitch and 6 foot grade box.I looked at MX 5200 and decided to stay with 4701 don’t farm so Cat 2 doesn’t interest me but little bigger front loader did.Turbo with 52 hp vs 45 hp naturally aspirated didn’t need it never run 4701 over 2200 rpms plenty of power. The 4701 has same size rear tires and Kubota put same back hoe on both tractors the Mx 5200 little bigger front tires little heavier 300-400 lbs 2-3 wider and longer !!! I kept in mind that bigger machines in wet ground make bigger ruts especially if front bucket is loaded. For home owner and moderate property owner I’m totally pleased with 4701 not one regret I’ve moved a lot of very cypresses and dug a lot of stumps out around 300 give or take of course not as fast as a large back hoe but pound for pound my 4701 is a work horse 2019 172 hrs !!! I’m very happy with my Orange beast

There was only $2k difference between a 4701 and a 5200. I couldn't resist.

Not to mention the 5200 comes standard with the quick detach front bucket
