You are probably going to hate me but I would be tempted to just bolt the 26" bar to the top of all of those weights and not bother with the frame work. Then it's really easy to set on the ground to remove/reattach.

Putting them all up top was considered but this way the hydraulics don't have to lift the weight at all when working on level ground.

If you're talking about mine it has 11 1/2 bags of 80lb concrete with some steel and a drawbar.

Flipped a bucket upside down and threw retaining wall blocks in it... works pretty well.

Mine is very simple. I can sit it on the ground to connect and disconnect.

Here's mine. Any recommendations on the type of paint I should use?

I'd say a Massey Ferguson "RED" would go real nice with your orange slow moving vehicle sign, ha.

Here's one i built for my work tractor for snow plowing. I made it to tuck in as close to the tractor as possible to transfer less weight off of the front. Its actually heavier in front of the drawpins by 50ish lbs. Its made of salvaged 1/4" plate and 640lbs of quikrete mixed with any scrap steel i had sitting around so im guessing the weight to be close to 1000lbs. I had originally put 18 amber led's attached to a Maxxima strobe control module in it, but later realized that the leds were made to be use as daytime running lights and were way too bright.

Here's a little video showing what the lights looked like after disconnecting all but 4. Best view is around 2 minutes in.

Very nice ballast box and video, how much storage do you have inside because I can see 2 hinges on the top.

I wouldn't worry about the hydraulics carrying your ballast.

With a QH on the tractor you should build your ballast so it can be dropped/picked up without leaving the tractor seat.

Have a compact tractor. Dont use ballast anymore. Just filled rear tires. If its not enough I have to rethink what I am doing.
Its much easier than breaking the tractor, done that already.

Quite a bit actually. I figured i needed space for some spare parts, tools and a chain since there isnt much room in the cab and the tractor gets parked at a down town account for the winter pretty far from the shop.
