Should I buy a BX or a B?

Do you mean the skid steer option for the FEL, or something else?

That is the beauty of the set up that Dragoneggs has from Jery Dunn. The weight sacrifice is the smallest I have seen for something so close to the bucket arms. Much lighter than the skid steer option.

Yet another consideration is the “tippiness” that you mentioned. When I was contemplating whether or not to upgrade from my BX25 to the B2650, I went and drove a B2650 from a TBNer that was close by. Much to my surprise, it seemed to me to be so high up that it would be tippy, or at least more so than my BX, which is quite close to the ground. So there you have another factor to consider. Do you want to be up where you have more clearance but be more tippy, or low down and less tippy, but with less clearance?

And don’t make your decision based upon the snowblower. Both of those tractors will do just fine with a snowblower.

ok... I just swung by my closest dealer on the way home to puts eyes on things again now that I had a better idea what to look at. Looking at the ground clearance of the bx23s and knowing my property... i'll get that thing hung up quite frequently i think. I'm sure I could find a way to get through it, but it will slow me down and be a hassle. I then looked at the 2301 and 2650 (they didnt have a 2601). the size difference is minor in terms of storage and the like, but the extra wheel size and the additional clearance are good. The extra lifting will be welcome as well, though i'm not sure how much that would matter. One thing I didnt like about the 2650 is the digital dash. I prefer dials. I can get over that, but it would be nice to have a dials option. So by the time I add all the features I want onto a 2650... yeah, gonna go broke on the thing.

All three times I have swung into the dealer they have either been too busy or too short staffed, so I have never actually been helped with my questions. I'v waited between 30 and 60 minutes before I decide I have other things I could be doing with my time. I think when I have all my ducks in a row and am ready to purchase I'll need to make an appointment to ensure i get what I need. The dealer has a lot of excellent reviews, so I'm hoping it has just been bad timing on my part.

now its time to start planning the new shed to house it in i guess. At least that will be fun to build.

If you decide on the B2650, opt for having rear tires liquid filled.

The Titan forks referenced extend but 30". The weight of a pair is seventy pounds.
The problem is the pallet weight is so far out front you lose way too much lift capacity. Second, have also seen bent buckets from using those and also the clamp on spade shovel. Third, not sure the clamp on will slide over a Piranha Tooth bar.

I do highly recommend Jery's QA and adjustable forks. And I am dang glad I got the adjustable vs. fixed. I have a few things I move that the fixed forks would not have worked.

For what it's worth here is my opinions. I have a B and my friend and neighbor has a BX. I do the servicing on his.

A BX will do what you want to do and save you some money on purchase. Good little tractor.

The B is way smoother running. When I start the BX or engage the PTO I keep thinking the motor is going to jump out of the hood compared to my B.

The B is easier to service. Don't have to remove a driveshaft to change the fan belt, no screen to clean in the hydro, only two spin on filters, and the fuel filter is easier to service with no mess.

Not an easy decision for you, Haff. For what it is worth, I have not had to do any of those servicing since I bought might my BX25 back in the fall of 2008. I used the dealer for my scheduled maintenance.

And I have serviced mine several times now passed the 400 hour mark. Easy to service.

With that in mind I would not recommend the “B” with the factory cab. I had one and while the cab is nice , the narrow wheel base make that tractor very “tippy” with the cab weight so high

If they can't be bothered with you when trying to buy, what makes you think it will be different when you need service/help? I would scratch that dealer off my list and never return to them for any reason.
