FWIW...

... I did break the rope a couple times. The rope is still hanging in the back of my shed....

If it is 3 strand rope it is really easy to splice it back together...

A large number of building codes were updated (for wind loads) after insurance company mandated investigations followed hurricane Andrew in 1992...

Went to shed to look and it’s closer to 3/4” rope. Could be spliced, but never used it since.
I haven’t spliced a rope since I was a kid. IMG_3678.JPG

I had pre cut them after cutting one and trying it the week before, and I had help that day. Sure made a big change in the house, especially since the back wall blew off a couple days before.

Yeah, I had no idea of the intended design. Caught me a bit off guard since I hadn't even considered that shape. I really like it!!!! Gives the house a completely different look depending on which side you are on.

If I drove in your driveway which side of the house would be facing me? I'm assuming the Dormer side but can't tell yet.

Couldn’t find a straight on current picture on my phone, but dormers are front. Capecod look from the front, with full height back.

Here’s one during construction.
