W32.Mydoom.A@mm Virus Problem and Solution.

I just had a new screen pop up on my computer saying that Norton had located and deleted the W32.Mydoom.A@mm ( hereafter called "the virus") and my e mail program would shut down. I did a full scan of my computer and nothing was found. The problem was with Norton not being able to "cleanse" a virus in an incoming e mail and it shut down my e mail program. I had to go to the web site and delete all incoming e mails to fix the problem. If this should happen to you, that is the easy fix. I had already gone to the Norton site and printed the 12 pages of instructions when this thought came to me, that Norton was hanging up on trying to delete the incoming e mail with the virus. This is the first time that this has happened. Usually Norton just deletes the virus and puts a notification up that it was deleted.... The web site that I found my e mail on was http://www.mail2web.com Your ISP might use a different one.....

Interesting fact I found out today - the US email virus infection rate is currently at 9%, (1 out of every 11 emails).

Folks if you aren't running virus software you are playing with fire. It's just a matter of time before you get bit.
