I have a inexpensive Windows 10 laptop...

Yes on the serial port...

I was wondering if I can burn a disk and then use that to transfer?

It was one of those things and waiting out the storm on a rainy day decided to take a look...

It is like a small cassette...

My guess email providers won't let Windows 98 past the firewall?

Interesting Google Search works

Tons of pictures in there... not a big deal but being able to export would be nice

Like this or different?

Certainly, burning a disk would be a great way.

Even the latest high density thumb drives are backwards compatible to USB 1.0...they hold a lot more than any burnable media and can be reused...

Ultrarunner, Is there an USB port on your old machine? Of course by all means use that if there is one. Also there are old USB Cards that could be installed in a card slot or PCMCIA to USB devices around (I think I still have one) but of course any install would have you hunting for a driver for the device. Let us know if there is a USB port on the old PC>

Win 98 has support (drivers) included for USB 1.0...multi port cards are really cheap...If both systems have Ethernet adapters...a cross over cable is all you need...to make it easy just kill any firewalls while your moving data between systems...or you can program the firewall to allow a handshake...

ZIP drive and NERO CD Burner...

What model ZIP drive is what I'm getting at? Back when I was in I.T. we had known failure problems with older ZIP drives and the "click of death". I'm worried about the reliability of the model of ZIP drive that you have.

It's OEM with my Dell build back in 1998...

I will need to investigate...
