5740 dif lock lever

Talk about timely. I was cursing the lock last night, because my rubber boots wouldn't keep the rears locked while simultaneously trying to push the tractor backward with the bucket. I don't want to think about what it did to the gears in the rear end. I had been considering a bracket extension of rod and angle iron to fit over and clamp to the existing lever when "The Fred's" post boosted this to the top.
I just ordered a set of 3, and they supposedly will be delivered on Monday.

Assuming you went with the lighter model, I don’t suppose you’d want to sell/mail one of your extra springs to NY?

I did go the lighter one.
McMaster was 12.76 for 3 + tax and shipping made it $22.19 total

I am not sure what shipping would cost me. Not sure it would save very much. We are trying to not leave the house. But I guess if the USPS would pick it up out of the mailbox then it may not be too bad. They would probably be cheapest shipping.

I know I am reviving an old thread but I wanted to thank Philp8n. I ordered the spring like he did for my Grand L 5460. It worked like a charm. I did pay almost $24 for spring (actually 3 as that is how they are sold) but oh my what a difference. My differential lock actually works. Now if I had a pedal instead of a round rod I would be set. This is a terrible design on Kubota’s part. I looked at a couple of local places to try and find a spring that would but couldn’t find a suitable spring. It was worth every penny.

It’s ashame I had to modify my top of the line tractor to function almost as good as my former Mahindra 2615 which was a bare bones tractor but it had a differential lock pedal that didn’t require a ton of force to engage.

Members like Philip are what TBN a great resource.

Thank you for posting your modification. I changed the spring out this morning and used the differential lock several times today and was a huge improvement.
