Safety wire?
Did the heads already have drilled safety wire holes?

No, but I drilled them on my drill press, worked out OK and I still had real safety wire from my aviation days.
And have the safety wire pull/twist tool so they also look real pretty, LOL.

Wow, safety wire. I haven't seen that used in years. Brings back memories of old days.

As was I baler wire is more like tie wire then safety wire:drink:

I know only a little about safety wire and I've seen it used before, but ... apparently not just any wire can be used as safety wire. I've rarely used it, but if I do I just use what ever is handy including (mostly) copper electrical wire. So, can you enlighten me on safety wire?

I have candle holders made better looking than that gear. Are you sure that's a part for a tractor, or is it a Hobby Lobby Essential Oils dispenser ? Do you have the O.E.M. parts to compare with the new junk ? This boils down to the scammed junk that we get for letting unethical manufacturers send their 'products here in the U.S. Wait until you see the insides of ventilators that they send here. I'm planning on sucking O2 from my torch instead of trusting their 'products'.

Peters picture of "safety" wire is a good one, not great but good, the ends should have been doubled back on each other to reduce the danger from the sharp end;

this link has several sizes of safety wire,they also have a brass shear wire.
SAFETY WIRE - STAINLESS STEEL - 1 LB SPOOL | Aircraft Spruce

this was commonly used in canopy and seat ejection systems as a safety to prevent inadvertent use;
SAFETY WIRE - ANNEALED BRASS - 1 LB SPOOL | Aircraft Spruce

Shear wire does as it it named, safety wire would not shear, nothing like shinny safety wire in a seat or canopy instead of the nice yellow shear wire to wake up a pilot or a crew chief in the morning.

And the good safety wire twisting pliers;
