Don't that make you smart or bullet proof?

Ummm. Nope. No need for measured intelligence or bullets where I hope to be.

I've already lived forever. And I'm on my second time around, at least. 'Eternity' ain't all it's cracked up to be.
In the interest of keeping this thread lighthearted:

In one of these threads I mentioned a distant relative who after Delta's bankruptcy wiped out his pension, moved up from station agent to flight attendant to improve his income. He said he realized after many long overseas flights where the off-duty staff are jammed into close bunks upstairs in the 747 ... that in a prior life he had to have been a lesbian.

Our local churches all got together and held their Easter Service in the School parking lot. Everyone could still practice social distancing while staying in their vehicles. The Service was also simultaneously broadcast on the local radio station for those that could not drive in.

I'm not as religious as some here, but miss going to the sunrise services.

What's the benefit of being a Christian then?

Many stupid people are Christians. In His eyes we are all relatively stupid anyway. It is a pretty good advantage to being a Christian. God loves us all...regardless of our gifts or lack of same. He will save us all too, if we accept Jesus.

There are are only four beings I am aware of that are bullet proof. God, Jesus, The Holy Ghost and Superman. The "innocent" are not bullet prroof. God has killed the innocent many times...hard for some to accept that. Maybe they think the babies that died in the Flood, or at Sodom and Gommorah were not worthy of being spared...God seems to think some collateral damage was OK to achieve His goals.

Just a thought...hope this is OK to post:
Doubt in God is not a sin. Not being able to believe, because of doubts, is part of the journey. We are expected to search for answers. Not wanting to believe is narrow minded and leaves a person stagnant like a pool of water that is never refreshed.

The Disciple Thomas did not believe Jesus had risen from the dead until he saw Jesus and touched His wounds. Even a Disciple wanted proof in spite of the other Disciples telling him what had happened.

Beware of any Christian who says they have never had any doubt. Their faith is shallow and not based on critical thinking. They are the "phoney Christians". I suggest the book The Case for Christ by Lee Stroble...it helped this once atheist. Stroble was an atheist too.

Have a blessed Easter.

Mom's sister ordered a Honey Baked Ham delivered to us for Easter... it was most thoughtful as she is thousands of miles away.

Don't know much about Honey Baked Ham other than there is a store the next town over where police set up traffic control because of the high holiday volume of Ham shoppers.

The ham was picked up by UPS Thursday and delivered Saturday afternoon.

It arrived wet with standing water in the secondary packing bag... the cold packs had thawed.

The ham was still cool and temps around here 50's and 60's...

Sister called to make sure we were enjoying it... 7 lbs for $65.

Never having order meat via UPS before... is there anything to be concerned about?

I did cut a small piece last night and it tasted fine and didn't have any issue this morning.

Mom is really looking forward to digging in this afternoon...

It's already cooked and in a sealed package so should be fine. Issue after cooking is rot not barnyard pathogens. Leaving it out at room temperature for a day or so won't make it unsafe to eat.

We thought about having Ham as our Easter Dinner but with just the 2 of us we decided to shake it up this year and had a nice Corned Beef and Cabbage from the Instant Pot. Delicious!

Many folk make a pretty big deal about attending a church service. Some even go on vacation and get a signed note they were in attendance where ever they went.

I think it was Charlie Jarvis who said, "Setting in a church will no more make you a Christian then setting in a chicken house will make you a chicken.
