Yep, I am surprised they didn't rip.

As a little side note, If the tractor had been a Kubota the style of quick connect on the tractor, if you pull on the hoses they will automatically disconnect.

you sure...?

I have fun with my channel on YouTube. And I have no shame so admitting mistakes is amusing to me.

I really respect you for that. Good for you.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Take a look at some of the female AG connectors on some some of the larger Kubota's and you will notice there is no outer ring for you to get your hand on. They move in the housing that surrounds them as you pull on the hose the "guts" of the connector move with the hose and the outer shell stays fixed in the housing and the hose disconnects. And when you shove the male connector into the female it moves backward and also releases the balls and the connection is accomplished without your hand on the outer shell. *

*yeah, yeah, I said male, female, balls, and hand all in the same sentence. But we are not in the 8th grade anymore.

You forgot, Pull on the hose... :cool2:

You have to admit that the use of the double acting outer shell and mounting that to a housing is a really cool idea to prevent damage to hoses if the operator forgets to disconnect the hoses and just drives the tractor away. We know it can and does happen. We have visual proof! :)

I see now, The ones I have you have to slide back the sleeve to release......

Right, same as my Kioti, but the double acting ones are kinda cool.

That top link has a locking valve so it will not move without hydro pressure. That’s the reason I fired up the tractor.

...but can’t you still “retract” the cylinder with the tractor off if the snowblower is pushing on the cylinder? Sort of like lowering the 3pth or FEL with the tractor off?
It will retract until there’s no force and that’s when the pin will be unbound.
I realize we’re discussing minutiae here...

Wasn't today, but a week or so ago. Wrecked three perfectly good glow plugs on a Kubota Generator. Wanted to test them individually and the little threaded rod screwed out when I tried to undo the contact nut.

Got new ones from Kumar (SP?) bros, and made up a harness instead of the steel contact plate, so I can Amp-Probe them individually.

OP already did that in the video!

I was watching the video and kept thinking "ok he's going to disconnect the hoses now!" over and over again.

I knew what to expect from reading previous comments, otherwise I would have been thinking the same thing.

"Can't you still 'retract' the cylinder with the tractor off if the snowblower is pushing on the cylinder?"

You cannot. With a locking valve, no external force on the ram will move the ram. The only way for the ram to move is hydraulic pressure (P) from the tractor. I really like locking valves because the attachments stay right where you put them with zero hydraulic float. This is cool when raking out a 1/2 of flat driveway for example.

I knew what to expect from reading previous comments, otherwise I would have been thinking the same thing.

All the people watching on Smart TVs cannot see the comment sections, so they will al be yelling,

"The hoses, the hoses!"

And

"You idiot!" LOL

Smile.

If you're gonna do something dumb, do it in front of an audience.

Trivia: for those with longer memories, I've now bounce-tested attachments from the hoses on both ends of my tractor.

Your saying this is not your first "hose" incident then? :)
