That's a riving knife. It will prevent a cut from closing back together when ripping a board with wonky grain, leading to a pinch and kickback, but it wouldn't have any effect on plywood and it won't prevent all kickbacks. If a board somehow gets crooked between the fence and blade, there could still be a pretty bad kickback. I had that happen once and it was like getting kicked in the gut.

That is exactly what happened. My old Delta table saw never had one of those splitters anyway

It looks almost like it has a anti-kickback device on it as well, something sort of like this:

This is what my 5 year old Dewalt has but hardly ever use that anti-kick attachment I mostly rely on that riving knife<<(never knew that's what it's called) for no kick-back, never had kick yet but I know it happens but does it happen when that whole anti kick thing is on, maybe we need further kick-back testing with some volunteers, can we have a show of hands...........

Changing the oil in the kubota zero turn now it's mow season. My exwife stopped to take the kids for a walk since that's the only time she see's them is for a brief walk once or twice a week. So she leaves and i get back to the change. Add 4 quarters, and then i see it seeping from the side on the ground. Turns out with the interuption I forgot to put the oil plug back in. $40 down the drain. The worst part is, about 6-7 years ago the exact same thing happened with my truck, she shows up mid oil change, no plug, and 3 gallons on the ground. Wonder if we'll see any of those dropping oil prices on the shelves?

Train your Brain! If you know you will be distracted, avoid doing chores that could get puckered up.

Wonder if we'll see any of those dropping oil prices on the shelves? I have been wondering if propane price has dropped, I need to call my supplier and check.

Last week, my heating oil was at $2.22 and propane was at $3.37. Quick to raise, slow to lower.
