Started filling sheathing in over the joist rim.

Here’s current picture of the back 10ft 10/12 pitch I mentioned Saturday.

I kept a small pocket calendar journal for years.
Now I keep a spreadsheet on my work computer with a couple words of what I worked on each day, at least for work items. It never fails a boss will ask when did you do such and such, etc. I do add kids college start, stops so I can plan trips.

I didn’t track the garage build, or the geothermal install like I did the house build.
On my personal computer I keep lots of spreadsheets. I keep a tractor log for the kubota, how many hrs used each day, was it forks, bucket, Bh, and now grapple. I keep a running total of hrs for each. So I do have some geothermal digging dates.
I have spreadsheet of electrical usage since building, all kinds of stats averages per month, per year, last 12 months, etc.
another with house lan layout, IPs, etc.
I have spreadsheets listing home movies, dates, format, pictures per photo album, number photos by camera, and when photos were scanned.
Keep another for a medical visits, and costs and when bills paid. Only started this about 5 yrs ago.
I keep paper records of all bills. I have all the receipts from my house build, and every purchase since. I don’t keep consumable type receipts, like grocery and fast food once I enter in quicken. I have quicken records since early 90s. Early in the thread I gave construction costs by category, a simple quicken report.

19970501 Thursday

After work:

Windows due in at Home Depot were not in.
Downstairs 3052 and 1852 windows were special order. Upstairs sizes were all stocked.

Don, A retired plumber friend, who had moved back to Ohio, told me he’d help with my plumbing.
He came over and looked at the house tonight.
(His son fixes my small engines)

High winds blew some felt off. (Shingles on 2/3 of back, 1/2 of porch, back of 10ft)

I understand journals. When I was a shop steward with the teamsters, I wrote down everything management said. They had a way of not remembering what they told us and that journal decided a lot of issues because they all knew I was writing down their words right in front of them, as they said them. Now I rely on FB and TBN to figure out what I did and when I did it, but sometimes I still have to sit and think about some of the pictures I see that I've posted and put the job to a face of who the client was. Even worse is when I get a text from a previous client and I have no idea who it is or why I have that name in my phone . I think there is a limit on how many people you can know and I might be over that limit!!! :)

Some people's limit is also higher than others...
