I kept a small pocket calendar journal for years.
Now I keep a spreadsheet on my work computer with a couple words of what I worked on each day, at least for work items. It never fails a boss will ask when did you do such and such, etc. I do add kids college start, stops so I can plan trips.
I didn’t track the garage build, or the geothermal install like I did the house build.
On my personal computer I keep lots of spreadsheets. I keep a tractor log for the kubota, how many hrs used each day, was it forks, bucket, Bh, and now grapple. I keep a running total of hrs for each. So I do have some geothermal digging dates.
I have spreadsheet of electrical usage since building, all kinds of stats averages per month, per year, last 12 months, etc.
another with house lan layout, IPs, etc.
I have spreadsheets listing home movies, dates, format, pictures per photo album, number photos by camera, and when photos were scanned.
Keep another for a medical visits, and costs and when bills paid. Only started this about 5 yrs ago.
I keep paper records of all bills. I have all the receipts from my house build, and every purchase since. I don’t keep consumable type receipts, like grocery and fast food once I enter in quicken. I have quicken records since early 90s. Early in the thread I gave construction costs by category, a simple quicken report.
