Buying Advice Tractor vs zero turn

The only thing I do not like about my eXmark Lazer Z ( have mowed my 8 acre lawn for 19.5 years with it now) is it is somewhat bone rattling and the older I get the harder on my old bones it is....

A new $400 seat makes our Exmark Lazer Z less bone rattling.

I put a suspension seat on mine 4 years ago, it helped but my tail bone feels the 4 hours I am on it for the next 24 hours still

Chevron-style tires are your friend....;) A quality commercial ZTR w/chevrons will blow your mind.
Yes, it makes a massive difference.
Replaced the stock turfs (useless) on my ZTR with Carlisle AT 101 bar tires and the difference is HUGE.
The same hills I struggled with or could not mow at all with the turfs are no problem at all now.

My old 1998 Gravely Promaster 100 ZTR was terrible on any kind of slope, it wouldn't track straight unless I kicked the rudder (for you aviators out there). Also it was on the smallish side, not that wide of a track. On the other hand, my Deere Z945M feels very well planted running off camber. It has Tweels, they are flat for maximum contact with the ground (and a huge improvement in ride quality.) I parked the Gravely and the Z945M next to each other before I sold it, the Gravely looked like a toy compared to the ZTrack.

I just don't mow wet area's with a finish mower, so any decent mower would work for me, but I can easily say, my Grasshopper 725 has been the best, fastest mower I've ever owned or even used, for mowing grass!

Same here, but made an exception last week. We had a little more rain than I realized the day before I mowed. It was only after I started that I saw some debris in the yard. Anyway, there were two very small areas with maybe 1-1/2" of standing water. Figured what the heck, go for it. Mowed fine, and no ruts or strange-looking grass afterwards.

This. I replaced my turf tires with AT101's and it was night and day. No more getting stuck and contrary to what you would think, the mower did less damage to the grass when turning.

I run AT101s on my ZT also. If you try hard enough you can still get one stuck but they make a world of difference over the useless turfs and cause less damage. I have no idea why most mowers come stock with turfs. IMG_8820.JPG
