That is the lite version, what Firehouse gave me was the Tijuana trots!

As in, if you drink the water, you best be trotting to the rest room FAST!

No, it's not funny! Never been to Asia, but I have learned never to eat:

BBQ at a non-BBQ restaurant
Oysters on the half shell...especially at a land locked restaurant
Mexican food at a restaurant where they don't speak English
Now this might be where you are missing out!

Korean BBQ is awesome.
Some Taco trucks make it right, I just ask for it in Spanish...
and I get my oysters from my own beach!

:cool2:

Yea, I do tend to wear my jeans, I assume you must like your dresses!
:D

Nah I have pretty ugly legs but like to admire the ladies in dresses like you seem to like admiring the fellas in jeans. ;)

Naaaaa I like ladies in dresses, skirts, jeans, even without anything on......

I just dont like girly restaurants.

Bali Belly here, a souvenir from Indonesia which is a popular destination
Totally get that... been there and enjoyed. My good buddy in Melbourne makes a Bali trip at least once a year.

I have always loved oysters; mainly fried, in stew, and lately, on the half shell, grilled with garlic and Parmesan. In fact, I couldn't get enough of them. I have been "poisoned" twice eating them on the half shell; once at a seafood restaurant in OKC, and once in Las Vegas. The one in Las Vegas was emphatic enough that I feel I haven't lost anything not ever having them raw, on the half shell, ever again. I am jealous of you guys who live on the coast and can get fresh shrimp, oysters and snapper.

Yes, those of us that like seafood and live on the coast especially the northern states are blessed. I travel a bunch and NEVER order seafood inland. Many don't have a choice. I choose beef, lamb, and pork in that order if I can't drive to saltwater in time for dinner.

Sea food that has been frozen isn't in the same league as fresh sea food . I love shrimp cocktail {fresh u12 right off the boat] but when i buy shrimp from acme on sale the only way I can eat it is friadiavlo or BBQ. Comes out way to soggy Cocktail.:drink:

I agree. Same with lobster tails that have been frozen, it completely changes the texture.

Maid Rite in Quincy IL if you can handle grease. I've ate at other ones and it didn't taste the same. Link is Alton Brown visiting. Also in Quincy you can get a pork tenderloin sandwich the size of a plate. Which place has the best tenderloin?....you'll get many answers.

Not really sure if it qualifies as a sandwich..but I really like the Gyro wrap you can get at the Greek pizza shops. It's some sort of shaved meat, lettuce, tomato, and a sour cream like dressing. I probably don't want to know what the meat actually is.. if that's not available when I get a sandwich.. I revert to the plain old Italian sub. ..no onions.
A few years ago I was tailgating at a Patriots game. A group of 30 or so season ticket holders has their own little section where they all put on a feast before every game.. I was very fortunate to be included. The friend I was with brought marinated fillet minion burgers for the grill. .. these were about 1/2" thick before cooking, marinated in a Italian dressing of some sort with salt and pepper. Sliced in the middle before grilling, then added a piece of American cheese on a grilled and buttered bun.... these things melt in your mouth. .. that would be my go to if available in a sandwich shop... but have never seen them anywhere else.

I MAKE a variant on that, lamb backstraps cubed and marinated in onion juice, lemon juice, grated lemmon peel, oregano, ground black pepper and olive oil for no more than 30 minutes then skewered and bbq'd, servve with the salad you describe and yoghurt with garlic

Try Adana kebab as well, a traditional Turkish kebab cooked on a broad flat skewer, quite popular here served the same as gyros but with Turkish bread.

Just had my favorite PB&J on sponge bread with a glass of cold milk. No naners though. No Monkey Pickles in the house right now.

Multigrain roll with a good bitey cheddar, sliced beetroot and red onion, heavy grinding of black pepper and a little salt, heaven....

I'm assuming that in Australia "beet root" is different than here in the U.S.? I can't quite picture sliced beets on a sandwich.

French Dip Prime Rib followed by leftover Thanksgiving Turkey with runner-up being a grilled cheese made just right or a Gyro made at the local Greek deli...

Fried zucchini always a nice compliment...
