Remaking a John Wayne movie should be off limits. There are some movies that should not be remade no matter what. This is so common in this era of remaking older movies. A remake of Dirty Harry, Casa Blanca, Who Shot Liberty Valance? Sorry some are just off limits in my book.

I have not seen MASH, the movie mentioned yet. 1970. I have found so many do not realize there was a book and then a movie before the TV series. It stars a quite young Donald Sutherland, Tom Skerritt, Elliott Gould, and Robert Duvall. Gary Burghoff as Radar too.

I agree the MASH movie is good. The vibe is a lot different than the TV show, the humor is a little darker.
