Bucket looses curl pressure after some use

/ Bucket looses curl pressure after some use #11
Mine does the same intermittently and I have all brand new cylinders. Been told it is likely in the regenerative circuit of the SCV whatever that is. Hasn't done it in a while but I was told to try cycling the curl back and forth a few times and that seems to fix the problem.

I have seen some tractor OEM cylinders with a simple Buna rubber oring/backup for an internal piston seal. IMHO Very poor excuse of a piston seal from factory equipment. In this situation we have had great success changing to a polyurethane type seal that can handle higher pressures, heavy duty and still fit in the same seal groove.

Is that what the replacement kit from JD will have or should I look for an aftermarket kit?

John Deere makes good kits, I was thinking out loud about other manufacturers.

Thanks, i found the kits at the dealer and a shop locally that will do the swap at $150 per cylinder. Is that charge ok?

$150 sounds reasonable for a repack assuming they stand behind their work.

It's a 30 minute job after you have the tools and experience. Took me and my SIL about an hour maybe hour and a half to figure out the first one. You Tube is your friend.
