BEF, I'm joining you with the shoulder issue...got up at 2am for a Coco walk, and then had to get in the lazy-boy to get back to sleep. Only saw a possum...no bears since June.

As you were getting back to sleep...sleeping wonder if bear bears were watching you from distance tho. ;)

I watched a Messick's video on the 50hp New Holland Boomer, which turns out to be a rebranded LS. Apparently is has a fairly unique FEL with better reach, but otherwise
is a high quality LS unit. Didn't even have to change the paint color much...

Temps are holding comfortably in rv, and thunderstorms no longer in forecast.

as I was going out the door at assisted living today, I was asked did you get your mail? What mail?...
seems they have mailboxes they never told me about, and I had almost two months of cards from friends and family in there.
Felt pretty dumb about that, and have spent last hour sending emails to folks saying thank you
And thank you PJ, that was nice of you to figure out my address and send a nice hello from the whole gang.

hot water heater got it's brain back, not turning that off again until I need to fill propane tank. The gauge on the tank says 1/4 full, the electronic gauge inside
says 2/3 full. ?? I'm going to assume the mechanical gauge is more accurate.

Drew ..the NH Boomer tractors are LS but ..the FEL's are by NH.

Seem to be more than a few of us here with iPhones. Just got an email about a class action lawsuit involving the performance of Apple iPhone 6, 7, and SE. If everybody files a claim, it would only amount to about twenty-five bux, but that's twenty-five bux you wouldn't otherwise have, right?

Here's the info on filing a claim:

Thanks, my claim was accepted.

The new pull tool use with cedars under the Oaks was the Uprooter.
UPROOTER- Buckthorn, Scotch Broom, and Tree Puller - YouTube

It works good on cedars about 5' tall but when I tried a 7' tall cedar it was two much effort.

I got them painted up and installed.... another project completed! And I didn't have to leave home for additional supplies! WOO HOO!

Don .. does anyone, in your area, have a hydraulic tree / post puller? The bigger the tractor .. the bigger the tree.

Ted, the grills look super! Nice job on this, very professional.

Don, yes he was clear to point out the NH design/build of the FEL and a few other things on the Boomer; apparently the loader arms
are a little longer than normal which gives it better reach. Seemed to focus on loading hay bales.

Most oak trees we are working under are 5-7' clearance. Tractors don't fit under them. That is why the park service is gladly accepting our volunteer hand brush clearing. We had 11 people show up today, heat index was 100˚F when we quit.

RNG, I'm still looking for a heat exhaustion app to go on the watch.

I’m not having any luck, my 7 plus serial number didn’t match those covered. Couldn’t get in the Heartline study, I’m feeling unloved! LOL

I grew up in a big farm house in northeastern NC, we had a whole house fan that mounted to the window frame with screws, the back of it was open to the blades, we had it upstairs so not an issue. On the hottest most humid nights everyone would raise their window 3-4 inches and it was very comfortable. The screen would be covered in water. I believe it was a Westinghouse. It lasted from 1952-2004. The last 20 years it was an exhaust fan for my paint booth.

Eric, I have been meaning to post these pics for a few weeks and keep forgetting.....

It is my favorite jelly / preserves... I keep a few different kinds on hand for my e-muffins! Thomas, you should try some if you can find it.

Where do you get it? I want to try.

Yup ... I installed one of those in our first house which did not have AC. Made a big difference.

Our current set up is just a gable vent fan - which does not pull air from the inside (intakes are in the overhangs/soffit)

Nonetheless, it has made a huge difference in cooling the house by keeping the attic temps a lot lower during the day. It generally kicks on around 11:00, runs all day when it's hot out or there is a lot of sun, and then shuts off about an hour or so after sunset.

Before I installed it, the AC had trouble keeping up during the hottest parts of the day and you could literally feel the IR radiation coming off the ceiling upstairs.

Attic fan, Another thing I have sitting on a box uninstalled for over 20 yrs. thanks for the reminder.

Not mowing, but having one of those unwanted learning experiences. Actually got a fairly early start on the day. Wife out with trimmer, I serviced tractor/flail in prep to mow. Wife suggested a quick break. After break she walks back toward area she left trimmer and I hear her yell “oh @@**&$” followed by “the glass door just shattered”.
Sure enough. Back slider to the King suite, fixed panel all crinkled to top and most of bottom quarter just lying there. Wife says she heard a pop as she walked by then the crashing glass. No mowing or trimmer activity at the time or 15 minutes prior. Most of the shattered shards on the outside.
Not an easy cleanup. Even worse getting out all the remnants. Now to evaluate how to fix, but for tonight just tarp over the opening.
Should have gotten a pic at beginning

And take it easy, a bloody head is no way to go.
newbury, that movie version was pretty freaky. Drums up a lot of old memories.

Drew is FREE! Drew, forehead wounds can be white lied off as Indian warpaint. :)

Caught this clip the other evening on the back porch. The little monster is becoming quite the pet. Darn thing tried to run up my leg while I was doin' somethin' on the iPhone, and I nearly jumped out of my skin.

So that guy is wild? Cool pet to have; you don't have to take care of it.

Welcome SeidelRanch! I will have to watch your video later.....the kids are hogging the bandwidth.

:welcome: to the GM thread, Brandon!

The fence lizards are all over the place out here; these two just seem to have adopted me. I feed 'em meal worms a few times a week, this year enough that they come running anytime they hear the stereo playing out on the patio.

The other night another lizard came up onto the concrete, and the bigger of the two took off after it like a rocket. Never seen one move that fast before. Actually, the other one took off, too, and it was a furious chase for a few seconds until it ran under the BBQ cover, and for a bit after I could hear the scurrying and trashing going on under there. A few minutes later, Stumpy (its on at least its second or third tail) comes strolling back like nothing happened, and may I have another meal worm, please?

RNG.....starting lizard wars.....while drinking Shiner Bock. I could get in tune with that!

RNG, cool liz ya got.

Here's a guy I didn't invite onto my hand today at the gas station. After placing the penny behind it for size comparo, it turned and acted like it was ready to eat copper.

a: the bug came in under the bag of Ethiopian beans.
b: the CIA was breeding them up to combat the asian wasps
c: who knows?

(hope the meds help Coco).

Oh my! Wonder if a small rock chip decided to grow? Sorry about that.

Thanks for all the cool pictures youz guyz. It took and hour and a half to get caught up.....and I know I missed some details.

RIP, hope the drama subsides, whatever it is.....and your daughter's visit is good. Is she a good porch/patio restorer? :) Just wait 'til she sees your wifey's new tractor!!!

Did I mention that I finally got the new little (but oversize) carburetor in for my son's minibike project? I have to make an adapter to make up the oversize diameter where it bolts to the intake. Maybe if I can hear it run, I'll get some more motivation....that and for the durn heat to cool down.

Prayers for Jay and wifey, Buppies, and Drew. Those in need.
