60" MMM

Not that it matters since I'm never in a hurry to mow.

Ya reckon the OP was asking about time saved?

Of course we don't know the grass varieties in Lower Uncton so your offerings are questionable.

There are a lot of variables, but the best answer is 20% less time as has been stated.
For my use, going from 60" to 72" was a big deal. Mowing about 30 acres of larger residential lawns per week I save over 60 hours of seat time each year. When I was just mowing my 6 acres I used a 16hp at the PTO tractor and a 72" finish mower for several years. For regularly cut Maryland Fescue it was just fine.

Except that you'll have to slow down, so it may take you longer over all. And maybe not cut as well, so you may have to go back over some sections.

Seriously, people need to relax. Is ten minutes a few times a summer going to make that much difference?

10 mins matter when you work 60 hours a week you want to enjoy the one day off as much as you can without working.

The best thing you can do about time is to ditch the MMM. I can mow twice as fast with my 72” ZT vs a 60”mmm. If you’re mowing with a loader on the time gap is even more. If you’re screwing around swapping out attachments the gap is more again.

That's the part he isn't getting. Adding a foot to the width won't decrease his mowing time. It might even increase it because he may have to travel slower to get the same cut. I can almost mow an area faster with my 42" riders than I can with the 60" MMM because they take bumps and rough ground better and have a tighter turning radius. If his terrain is relatively lever and clear, his money may be better spent on a ZTR.. I can't use one due to my slopes.

A bigger mower deck probably won't save you much time. Get a zero turn mower and you will save upwards of 50%.

We cut our mowing time 2/3 with a zero turn. Tractor with 3pt rear discharge is used on rough cut areas. I've had 3 small tractors with 20 HP PTO and have run 60 and 72 inch mowers. For overall performance 60 is better.
