Horror stories abound here. From variety store owners that show up in Mercedes cars to use the bank to stock their shelves, to people that throw turkeys and other unwanted stuff along the streets leadind away from the banks.
The difference between Canada and USA?
There really are some hungry people out there, whether from bad choices, bad luck, or both. I've never been hungry so can't imagine what that's like.
I was raised to believe "God helps those who helps themselves"... and also to give a hand to those who are less fortunate. Rather than hearing anecdotes, talk to a few of the people who are working distributing the food. I was in two pantries last week... I raised 20 extra chickens this summer and dropped them off at two local pantries.
The USA is one of the few countries where people without enough food are obese; cheap food isn't always healthy food.
Thread drift is common, but how did we get from electric trucks to food pantries?
