I only have one 16 ton air jack. All that "stuff" inside would explain why 8 ton jack was found wanting.

Yeppers, I helped a house mover a long time ago who had contracted to move what he thought was an empty structure, which was a huge old 2 story house, after doing several walk throughs in the elaborately configured rooms and hall ways dimensionally nothing added up rooms were smaller than adjacent walls accounted for closets were not the depths they should have been calculating the approximate locations to rooms behind them. the building weighed nearly 3 times that of what an empty structure of its size and construction should have weighed. As it turned out the house at one time had been a bank with living accommodations above it there was 2 19th century walk in vaults hidden behind false walls and 7 fire places with no remaining evidence of chimneys through the roof all concealed in closets and shortened hallways. I spent days upon days welding beams together to double and triple their strengths plus making extra wheel trucks or dollies to put under them. All this to move a 100plus year old building from one end of town to the other that had it been me 2 gallons of gas and kerosene and a few hours fire training mission would have saved everyone a lot of trouble.
Just like I could have saved myself a lot of trouble had I removed much of the forward weight, even just shifting it to the rear to balance things out would have been better

Now that I have the box van leveled on concrete blocks I can close in the gaps where the low spot is for back fill

Brandi there is about a 3 foot elevation difference in where the finished floor level will be and the underside of both vans at the corner of the shop.
the reason for welding in several purlin pipes and I think there are in places 3 layers of the galvanized sheet metal will be to hold the red sandy clay until it is packed which once tamped with my plate packer becomes almost like soft sand stone the only way to dig in that stuff when dry and packed is with a madz or a pick you can scrape it with a shovel but not penetrate it.
Once everything is said and done I will probably pour a slab under the noses of the trailers and enclose the outside with walls and a door which will be where I will install my air compressors and volume tanks. that wat they will have their own utility room and not be heard inside the shop.
I hate having to listen to 2 or 3 5 or 10 hp or larger air compressors running filling a couple hundred gallons of volume tanks inside of a shop the noise of pneumatic power tools is bad enough.
the reason for my wanting so much air is eventually there will not only be a spray booth but sand blast room large enough to drive a truck of piece of equipment into I want to be able to reclaim the media for reuse and not have the sky around the shop turn brown from a blasting operation. And the media will not be silica is my reason for wanting to reclaim

I just about have enough fill in the shop to level out the floor now

And today the wind cooperated with me allowing me to hang the 200 lb tarp salvaged from a Conestoga trailer kit to make the South West part of the wall which eventually will become a roll up window for my brick crane to swing through

The anvil will go nicely with the forge I am building
