Same here. I just wish the brakes were on the clutch side instead of being on the same side as the treadle.

Economy Ls are messed up. Grand Ls don't have a clutch, at least the HST ones, so can put the brakes correctly on the left side.

I have a preference for the treadle as I've owned Kubotas. I drive some 2 pedal JDs occasionally. Most of my dislike for 2 pedals boils down to that's not what I'm use to. That and one of the JDs has a maintenance issue & occasionally pedals stop working completely if you bump both at the same time. Need to shut it down & restart it to fix it (or do some long recalibration process to actually fix it, but its not my machine)

The word Economy is the key. The dirty little secret is the PTO clutch. Any hydrostatic tractor with independent PTO can easily be designed without a clutch pedal, brakes on the left and single or dual hydro controls on the right. It is a cheaper build and more part commonality with gear drive tractors to have a single dry disc clutch in the conventional location coupled with a transmission driven PTO. This design essentially precludes the use of a two pedal hydro control system because the operator station requires both brake and clutch pedals. Nobody is gonna deviate from a left side clutch pedal position.

Because of my arthritis in my right hip, the treadle pedal is a pain, literally. After about 30 minutes I'm movin all over trying to find a comfortable position.

I spoke to the fellow who did the teeter totter pedal, my name. He was great and, imho, the pedal is genius. I'm going to build one after it quits raining and I can finish my house ha ha ha.

I found my self operating the reverse function like we used to downshift motorcycles?

I stick my toe under the forward pedal and lift up for reverse. In my case, there is no pain and better fine control. I only realized I was doing it when I jammed my toe under the gas pedal on my rtv and wondered, why ain't it going backwards.

Top of my right foot gets a little sore and funny marks on the boots but, for me it works.

Thanks for all the kind words. I wish I could make up a kit to convert over to two pedal but there is too many differences.

At 78 with arthritis in my feet and ankles plus muscle deterioration in the right leg do to service connected nerve damage in the lower spine your mod would be a blessing . Pushing down on the treadle with my right heal is not only painful but sometimes very difficult . I would pay for that mod in a heartbeat

I damaged my right heel several years ago. I just shift my foot back a little and don't use my heel in reverse. I've found going forward the offset treadle much easier than a green tractor I've owned. I don't place my entire foot on the treadle.

Because of arthritis in my hip I had a real issue with the treadle pedal. This was my solution. I use my toe for forward and reverse, much like a two pedal system.

I can't understand how Kubota thought it was a good idea to put the wing on the right side. most unnatural position for a human leg.

as soon as you upgrade your m59 to a m62 you will have that configuration.
