Argh! Another aerosol can gives up

I buy WD-40 in gallon cans and use squeeze bottles (small ketchup/glue type) and pump spray bottles. That covers pretty much all my needs. Works great for machining aluminum so I keep duplicate sets near the mill and lathe. I've got those bottles everywhere! That's why I buy it by the gallon. ;)

I've had PB Blaster cans do the fizz-puke too. I got a couple of self-fill air cans for that. You can pressurize the can up to 100psi with anything that can spray. Haven't tried paint with them yet. I have other tools for that.

I had two cans of WD-40, in a row, go TU. Now I buy WD-40 in gallon cans and put it in a spray bottle.

I've not had this happen... ever.

WD-40, JD rattle-can, Lanolin lubricant... when the aerosol runs out there is no 'product' left in the can.

Is this a recent observation? :confused3:

YES I believe it is.

The first time I tried to use one of those cans with the pivoting straw at an angle I thought it was a dud too.

I will repeat that WD-40 head is a little ball valve. If you want to spray at an angle you have to have the head ALL the way up and bend the straw. Any deviation between all the way up or down shuts off the hole to the product.

^^^^^^^^
Made that swap years ago, this is nothing new to those cans...

I had a new can of WD that did that, I fixed it by holding down the nozzle and blowing into it with a rubber tip nozzle. It works on some paint cans that have a clot in the pickup tube as well.

What did dat WD company do wid der other 39 concoctions of lamp oil kerosene?

I remember well back when mechanics rebuilt rather than replaced them fellows swearin spray cans would be death of skills. They was right.

I had an aerosol can of Kubota Orange go TU. Shot out wad & goobers of Orange. Intense shaking made no diff. Old can or bottom of the barrel. Dealer replaced - no problems.

Most annoying part - I had to drive all the way back to the dealership ........ 45 mile round trip.

A quart can of Kubota orange (Amazon), and a cheap HF spray gun is the most cost effective way, if you should need to buy even two of those Kubota color spray cans.

Maybe that's because cans are upside down when Aussies use them. :D
