Another thorn in my flesh in 2020.... Gone are the good old days and most likely never coming back either. All my life I use to just go or call a tire shop, they'd say come in any time or this afternoon, pick out the tires you want and we'll have them put on. Today I called 4 big tire shops, VIP, Tire Warehouse and others, all busy til next week, NEXT WEEK!!!! What happen to no one driving around, gas is plentiful, everyone is shopping online, but everyone needs tires now to get toilet paper. I use to go in Sears at 7pm and get tires without appointment let alone wait a week, end of rant.......... The Judds - Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout the Good Old Days) - YouTube

Must be your area. Passed the local discount tire store when my wife and I were running errands. They had 3 bays available and 2 to 3 guys slinging tires on the other vehicles in the shop.

I didn't look to see which region your in. But when I lived in the north east, local tire shops were swamped in the spring and fall. They had their normal buisiness of that months vehicle inspections and odds and end stuff. They also had everyone and there brother trying to get their winter tires installed.

Could be, maybe I should just check the muffler bearings and blinker fluid and see if that helps......

Sittin on a bench at days end looking at my neighbours fancy F150 (parked here), and thinking about the 21 Duramax that was here yesterday. Compared to a humble work pickup , maybe up to the 70s or something, these new trucks are terribly "chunky" in design and really trying to be something. One more than the other it seems, like some kind of blow fish!

Sadly, true. Although there have been some HP and GVWR gains, the cosmetic changes are just that.

That Denali had 360 degree cameras and a picture from bove that makes it look like a camera is looking down on the truck. I asked if the truck had a companion drone, and the owner said his young son asked if the camera was on a pole?

I'm trying to think of the last time I thought I needed 360 degree cameras plus overhead of my truck. It escapes me.

To me, it would be vastly more useful if it recorded. What would that entail? A ten dollar memory card on a 95,000 CDN truck!

I guess the mirrors were not expensive enough with heating, direction arrows, remote control, in and out and telescoping. Now they have a camera and work lights too. Remember a time when you would go to the wrecker and get any mirror that would screw on with two screws, and few cars even had passenger side mirrors. They were heavy metal and chromed. Older ones were often pitted. I remember driving in the states with my Dad and was always amazed at all those places that just had piles of bumbers out front. I never saw that in Canada.
