Not a picture but nature. Chum salmon trying to get through a beaver dam.

Thanks for sharing, geoduck. We were down at Belfair State Park at the tip of the hook of Hood Canal this past weekend, and I was surprised at how many dead Chums had floated back down the stream to the fjord (it is not a canal). Eagles and Gulls were having a feast on the now colorless carcasses. What a beautiful weekend that we will be missing for sometime I think.

I recently put a train horn in my Camaro. That's fun in the tunnels.
Could be useful for those bicyclists around here that ride in the vehicle lane when there is a 6 foot shoulder.

I mainly got it for those that don't understand how to merge.

My lake is just about 100% ice covered. The ice is about an inch thick. "Normally" it will get 10" thick by winters end.View attachment 679142

(No, I don't have a mullet.)

A friend of mine is putting one into an early 60s Chevy he recently acquired. Sourcing an air tank most recently.

It's in the 40's here. Shaping up to be yet another mild winter. If I'm lucky I'll be able to go ice fishing for maybe 2-3 weeks at the end of January. I used to go over Christmas break as a kid. Winters are about a month shorter now.

I gave up trapping mice a little over a month ago. I now have a "lethal" barn cat. It has done away with more rodents than I could have possibly trapped in a year. Just having the scent of cat around the buildings, vehicles, etc has been a great deterrent. I just finished a cat shelter for this "force of nature" yesterday and she really likes it.

The deck IS nice - I like it better in the summer when it's warmer.

Yeah, we have several feral cats that hang out here; keep the snakes and moles and gophers in check also...and I haven't seen a mouse in several years. They met their match with our wild turkeys though. Watched one stalk several mature hen turkeys, they didn't hesitate to attack the cat and he headed for tall timber.

We went for a walk today at a local county park, walked out on a pier and were looking around, and noticed frogs. Dozens and dozens of frogs. All sitting on the bottom in the sun. Occasionally moving around. But mostly just sitting there. In this picture, there's at least a dozen of them, and two large tadpoles. Weird for December 9th in northern Indiana!

I got to wondering if they are legal around here. Seems to be a reference to a dB limit, but not specific.

but no horn or other warning device may emit an unreasonably loud or harsh sound or a whistle.

Our friend seen this fellow near Courtney Lake this week. Courtney is in the Ottawa NF in the UP of Michigan. We clear trails at this lake but no worry, we have packs pretty much everywhere. He's having lunch on a road kill.

I guess they must be hiding, I couldn't see them. Speaking of weird; my spouse claims that she saw it rain frogs. She was sober; she was on the school bus in East Texas when it happened, over 60 years ago.
