Bickering aside...

I hope all of you that have had it get better and those of you that haven't had it don't get it.

There is a dichotomy in the fear of getting the virus because of the difference in severity of symptoms...if people knew beforehand that they would have minor, minimal or no real symptoms the fear factor would be much lower...as would be precautions taken...

What is that "high number" of "severe reactions", exactly ?

I have read that the documented number of severe reactions to date, totals something like 5-7 in one million.
Everyone does have their own definition of ..."a high number" though.

In CA, the more draconian the Covid rules, the higher the infection rate. Its because their leadership is too stupid to realize the more people you jail at home, especially around thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year gatherings, the more in-home super spreader events will happen.
Look at the last 5 pages of this thread, sick at home!
Meanwhile FL has relaxed Covid rules and much lower cases.

Maybe one day CA will realize people need to be outside or spaced out, but I doubt it.

"Maybe one day California will realize people need to be"........FREE!

My sentiments exactly. My wife and I will do what we feel is necessary to best this scourge and not get it so we will at our earliest opportunity get vaccinated. I suspect that will be soon in as much as I'm high risk and If I have some sort of adverse reaction, so be it. I'll get vaccinated (and so will my wife) in a doctor's office or the hospital where they can observe us and take necessary action if there is a reaction.

The one issue I have with vaccination is, I feel it should be 100% of the population that gets vaccinated so again, in my opinion, it should be mandatory ands based on Social Security numbers to determine those who have received a vaccination and those who have not been vaccinated should be required to get it, Period.

I don't want to keep wearing a mask and social distancing and playing hermit because a select portion of the population are anti-vaccers. It's BS in my book.

Older population, more retirees I bet.
But CA is worse than FL in CASES, which is what I specified, NOT deaths.

You want to do graphs? We can do graphs all day.

Old folks like me, leave their home states, and move to Florida, or Texas!
No old people move to California.
People of all ages are leaving California, and New York, in droves.
I wonder why ??

Hmmm.... why's Florida such a popular destination?

Could be the nice weather. Could be no state income tax. Couldn't have anything to do with the fact that they can't take your house when you declare personal bankruptcy and probably just a coincidence that it has the 2nd highest personal bankruptcy rate in the country out of all 50 states.

I say this in jest, however, I know several people who moved to Florida and several years later declared bankruptcy. I think you have to live there X number of years before it's possible.

Moss, you are in the center of every "bickering" topic on this thread. I hope you have the decency to exclude yourself from "moderator" if things go bad? As my favorite line in the movie "Charlie's War" said, "we shall see". :)

That assumes that the numbers being reported for Florida are accurate.

Highly questionable IMO ...

I can only go by what is reported, same with all of us.

So Mods can't participate on discussions and must only moderate threads? :)
