Finished and off to recovery, wait an hour then escorted out to my car and wife drove me home, that was the second worst part, .

I feel for ya.... when my wife has to drive me I am constantly slamming my right foot into the passenger side floorboard. She tailgates like you would not believe. My constructive comments seem to go nowhere.

I once was headed home and there was this crazy car tailgating me. It seemed to make every turn I did.... oh wait that looks like my wifes car.... oh carp, it is my wife driving :mur: :mur:

I had both eyes done in my mid fifties. I needed strong sedation as my eyes are very sensitive.

For the first eye the anaesthesia/sedation turned the surgeons and nurses into large pink elephants which wore off as soon as the IV was turned off. The medical team were amused as usually the hallucinations aren’t quite as strong.

For the second eye the team were transformed into a large brown paisley scarf. In both cases it all made perfect sense and I wasn’t concerned.

I also needed the follow up laser work a few years later to clean up a membrane that had grown over the inside of the lens.

Haha. That happened to me today. I had aenesthetic for shoulder bursitis and muscle tear. Also a MRI so I wasn't allowed to drive. My wife has been on special medication for some time and isn't allowed to drive. She had to knock off for a week beforehand so she could drive me. She was a bit nervous and had to ask me for directions. She is a careful driver but has a different style to me. We got home with no dramas. Love my wife.

I've had lenses in both eyes done. First one went without a hitch. Second one - well not so good. Had to have it re-done. Second time it still wasn't perfect, but good enough. On top of that, I went to a high-dollar specialist for mine. At $10K per eye, one would expect a flawless operation. Not necessarily true.

I went to the eye doctor yesterday. First time since 2016. My glasses prescription was way off, and I just quit wearing them. I could see better without them. I was a little worried about cataracts, as back in 2016, he said "maybe the start of one in one eye", Not sure. But this time all came back fine, no issues with either eye. If I can see as well as I could see thru that machine when we finished up the "1 or 2" thing, I will be very satisfied. Only pain was the pain to my wallet for the glasses which I should get shortly. For those having the surgery, I wish you all well.

OK now, original poster here.
Tomorrow’s my turn, the surgical center just called to be sure we are COVID free and to remind me no food or drink after 11:00 PM. Whope...
We will have to leave home by 0600 in the morning to make the appointment time which means rolling out of the sack by 0500 about two hours earlier than usual but no biggie.

Certinally appreciate everyone’s participation in this thread and look (pun intended) to bringing everyone into focus on the outcome.

Wish you well.

If you are like me, after it settles in, you realize once again how beautiful and detailed life is.

Sight is truly a gift.
