It's a privately owned forum. We all knew the rules when we signed up. Frankly, I have no problem with the owner of a private business setting and enforcing their own rules. If I'm on a forum where I don't like the rules, and I'm not able to convince the owner to change them, I have a choice: live with a rule I don't like, or do what Oldpath seems to have decided and find some place else to go.

I've been a member here for almost 20 years now. That rule has been in place since before I started. I think it's there with good reason: getting sucked into arguments over politics and religion have destroyed many good forums (and many friendships).

In essence, we are guests in Mohammed's house. When we are in his house, we play by his rules.

As it’s been mentioned before, TBN is monetizing this forum for their benefit. This idea of us being guests in someone’s house is weak BS. if we aren’t actually paying guests we are the ones bringing the party.

Maybe I missed it, who was arguing with Oldpath over his signature line?

The only person I've seen is the same person who complains if the thread strays slightly off topic.
Maybe I missed it, who was arguing with Oldpath over his signature line?

So what? I equate it more to a store owner requiring shoes and shirt. Or, as a woman I spent time with said about horse stables; "His barn, his rules." Just as it's our choice not to enter if we don't like those rules.

Everyone and every place has rules.
My G-ma had a simple rule. "Hats are left by the door."
Not that she didn't believe in hats, or questioned someones right to wear a hat, or thought wearing a hat was wrong. She certainly wasn't being counter cultural about hats. It was just one of her rules.
We didn't question or debate the rule, we followed it.
It's pretty simple.

Now back to the subject at hand.
A neighbor sent me this Pic taken shortly after the blow-down at my Mom's place. They have this 1 acre lot + another 5 their house is on.
Left side in the background is the base stem and root ball. The neighbor removed stem 2 for his fire wood, it was rotated 180 to stem 1 here.
Stem 1 is the one I used the grapple to transport back(opposite the direction of the Pic) and down the road to the driveway in my previous post.

31foot logB12.jpg

Sorry for the poor quality of the Pic. I believe it was taken from inside a rig from quite a distance.
I think there is around 30 trees of this size on the lot.

Inspecting some bushes witch I have to clean up a bit, and the road to it, pics not in any form of sequence.

But how exiting will a drive with a MF 135 bee on these roads, hmm

I can't say that it's Godless, I don't even discuss religion with my family. The rules have always been the same. Muhammed seems to be a more obvious presence lately, I don't know if it's that or if somebody complained. It is his forum so we have to follow his rules. OP wasn't told to leave, if he does it's by his choice.
I do hope that he comes back though, this thread won't be the same without him.
Where are these rules people speak of? I looked through the "Terms Of Use", I didn't see anything about only tractor discussions are allowed.

That's some beautiful scenery, not sure about a ride down that road on the MF though. Well maybe "hold my beer and watch this"

I don't recall ever seeing the "Forum Rules", but that thread was posted before I became a member so it is doubtful I would have seen it.

This issue needs to be discussed, maybe in its own thread. Mohammad, you decide, move it if you wish.

The rules state no discussion will take place regarding religion or politics. To me, a line in a persons signature box is not a discussion, it is a simple statement informing others of how this person thinks. If others don't care for how the person thinks, they are welcome to put them on ignore, it's really that simple.

It seems some people now days are just looking for a reason to be offended.

That does not change the fact that it is a privately owned web site. The public or the users don't set the rules. The owner does.

I have no idea. I never saw the argument, just Oldpath's response to the message he received.

I really don't care if someone wants to put a Christian, Buddhist, Jewish, Islamic or Atheist tag line on their posts. It's no skin off my back. I come here to hear what they have to say about tractors (or in the case of this topic, "Tractors and wood"). If they have something interesting to say on the subject, I'll read it. I ignore the signature lines most of the time anyway. Other than that, I try to follow the rules set by our host (though I may not succeed 100% of the time).

With that, I'm done with the topic drift

I personally don't see the objection to a line in his signature. I think we are all aware that religion exists, and that there are different religions found around the world. And that religion isn't for everyone. I wish OP hadn't left, he was the main pot stirrer around here, (at least on this thread) kept some of us on our toes. It is a shame that our freedoms like speech and religion have become so offensive to some, and the term "some" seems to be an ever increasing number these days. Mohammed has created a very nice forum/website for all of us, it has been beneficial to all who use it. I may not see his point of view, or agree, but it's not my forum, so not my rules. If I had a problem with it, I could leave and start my own website and wait 20+ years for it to grow to this...

I do find it odd that someone got their knickers in enough of a twist over seeing a signature to bring it to the attention of the Owner and get it removed using the rule as the basis. How long has OP been a member here, his avatar says 8 years, and I've seen his quote as long as I can remember, but now it's an issue?

Anyway, so that this post doesn't get removed for being completely off topic, Here's pics of splitting some large maple firewood from last winter.! I don't get giant rounds often, so I was trying different attacks to find what worked best.

Who is it, I'll never follow up with his posts.
I have no problems with the rules, just the whiners need to be canceled.

Digging it would be my first guess for the complainer. He’s done nothing but complain and be the self appointed Mayer of TBN since he joined. He must have a pretty sad life to be offended much less take the time to complain about someone’s signature line.

Lifting your rounds with the loader reminder me of splitting 30" maple rounds last summer. The tractor was running the splitter so I had to do it by hand. Of course I lowered the splitter first and built a ramp of split wood. I am not a strong person so it was my limit.
