Did you build or buy your tractor shed/garage

This summer I had a 24x32x12 pole barn built;12x10ft.over-head door,man door and four windows.It also has six clear roof panels for light.Installed four 3000 lumen LED lights and several out-lets.Work bench and loft to be done this coming summer.
This building is unheated;I have a 24x36 heated garage for our personal vehicles.
My tractor sat out side for ten years;so it was certainly due for some cover.Also store a boat and a sidexside in the new building.
Total cost so far is $13,500;including Amish labor and over-head door opener.It took three men and 2-1/2 days to construct.
We did the preliminary work our-selves including drilling the holes for the uprights.

We bought and built the same building. When we bought the place there was a half fallen down 40x60 barn. When we asked contractors for an estimate for fixing it up they'd say it's hopeless but they'd take the barn wood away for us. Yea, I'm not falling for that. We hired a neighbor to help put put it into usable shape and re roof it. He did most of the work and even found dimensional redwood to match the existing wood. We found square nails in it during the rebuild. Between that and property records and old newspaper accounts, we think it was built in the 1880s or 90s. It was built as a dairy barn and they poured farmer concrete for floors. It's on a slope and they made the back 40% of the center bay a raised platform. Looks like it was for storing hay with feed troughs cast in the concrete on either side. It's not clear span. There's poles down the middle of each side, leaving a 20' wide center bay and two 10' bays on either side. That and the rear raised section make it less useful for tractor and implement storage but with dollies I'm mostly making it work. I have to leave the backhoe outside. One of these days I'll remove the raised part and pour a new level floor.

When we bought our place in 1980, the shop was already built. It's a 24x36 steel sided pole building purchased from Western Farmers Co-OP. There is a 12 foot bay and an enclosed 24x24 shop area. I have since put in a storage loft and a 12x24 leanto. My tractor is in the 12 foot bay and the lawnmower lives in the leanto. I have insulated the shop and my woodworking equipment is there. As noted by many in this thread, I would like more space but you make do with what you have. Besides if it was bigger I would probably fill it up and still wish for more space....

For 8 years my L3800 kubota sit outside, when I started looking to upgrade I started building a 30x40 masonry building. The new Yanmar will fit nicely once I have it all completed which hopefully will be in the next few months.

I did, but just plain blocks, not nearly as nicely decorative, but still neat and clean.
I like doing blocks, but mine was 30 years ago....I am WAAY too old now!

Thank you! Yes, I am a mason. Laid regular block for the interior walls then used 4” splitface block for the veneer. Then I installed the metal roof, hopefully the siding will go up soon on the gables then I’m going to concentrate on the floor.

Not fancy at all. Built in 1983. The outside - painted red with lead based paint in '83. It's stood the test of time and protected my tractors for all those years. Many years ago - sitting on the tractor - letting it warm up. THEN - the most God awful roar and THUD. 30" of snow slid off the roof in one fell swoop. Scared the crap outta me.
