What history are you referring to? History is usually written by victors who are not unbiased.

Actually what they are doing now is changing history (well after the fact)...just look at a what is being taught to typical public school students...

The victors wrote the history...now it's being re-written to be PC...

At the risk of steering this conversation back to the gentleman minding his own business being killed by two juveniles who because they are under 10 years of age escape the justice system because they are legally not culpable … I can only guess the parents will be sued in civil court. If they have a family farm or a retirement from someplace I bet that will be up on the auction blocks.

They are not escaping the justice system. Juveniles are recognized as not having the mental capacity of adults and are treated differently. To do otherwise would be barbaric. You are correct in pointing out civil liability.

Are you sure? I thought there needed to parent culpability in a crime committed by their child, or at least some sort of such a connection to it. That has not been established in any report I have seen.

If the kids took the rifle without knowledge of the parents, (or maybe it didn't even belong to the family,) it might become difficult to pin that back on the parents. Morally, sure, but maybe not in a courtroom.

It seems like every week now I read of a child under 12 shooting someone and even more often hear of them bringing loaded guns to school. As if we didn't have enough problems with teenage hoodlums and gang members having shootouts in crowds of people, now we even have to worry about 8 year olds.

I couldn't wait till I retired to go more often to some of the great restaurants and lounges in New Orleans and now that I have the time and money to do it, I'm getting to afraid to even go in the city anymore.

When my boys were in grade school and we helped them with their homework, I've had never seen anything taught in social studies that left me scratching my head thinking "what are they teaching" per history. This was only a couple of years ago.

However, this common core math with basic addition, multiplication and division was beyond stupid IMO and I couldn't understand why they would teach it.

For those of you that don't have kids anymore in school and aren't use to "common core" math, I think this guy kind of nails it using a simple multiplication example IMO how the old method compares to the new method.

It's well written and well thought out. The author looks at the 12 most popular history books used in our schools and points out omissions and blatant lies.....lots of good examples.

Old news to me but still important to understand how the govt does things.

I will agree with you to a certain point, but the reality is you can only jam so much world and country history during the school day.

Anytime I watch a mini series (Masterpiece on PBS has some very good ones IMO) I'm amazed at what I didn't know.

Last one watched was "Atlantic crossing", which focused on the royal family of Norway during WW2 (and the interesting relationship "neutral" countries had with Germany during their occupation).

Generally after watching a "drama series" pertaining to history, I like to check out the actual facts as documented. For the most part, seemed like "Atlantic crossing" was factual, and although I knew some presidents had "women on the side" as being womanizers, I had no clue what kind of relationship FDR had with the future queen of Norway, nor ever learned of her sanctuary in America during WW2. I never learned about that in school LOL
