I haven't done anything on it since my last pictures. I had some concrete left over that was taking up room in my shop, so I extended my back porch. Pouring concrete wears me out to the point that the next day, I'm too lazy to get anything done.
Akita Nationals are coming up later this month and I was volunteered to create 32 stands to hold the white plastic chain that will go around the ring that is reserved for Akita's only at that dog show. It's called a Specialty where the top 20 Akita's in the country are invited to attend. It's a huge thing and Akita's from other countries will be there, along with some of the best dogs that didn't make the top 20, but want to compete too. This is our 3rd year that our boy Matsu is top 20, but we will be bringing one of his daughters to show instead of him. He's probably retired from showing, he's not enjoying it like he used to. Those 32 stands are eating up a lot of time.
I'm also working on my septic system. It failed on my about a year and a half ago. I replaced the tank, but wanted to move my leach field to an area that perks a lot better then the original spot. I'm install all brand new SDR35 pipe to get there, but then all of a sudden, it wasn't available anymore. Lowes sells it for under $17 a stick, which is half what the plumbing supply houses charge, and the closest that had any was two hours away. It just showed up last week, so I bought what I needed and hope to get them in the ground this weekend. My trench is dug, but I need to smooth it out with the shovel before putting the pipe in there.
Lumber prices are almost back to normal. It's not so bad that I'm waiting for them to come down farther, and I'm nervous that if the Spending Bill passes, the inflation will drive prices back up again. I'll probably buy the rest of my lumber real soon just to have it on hand and then do what I can, when I can.
For me, my biggest challenge in finishing a project is minimizing my distractions. Right now, I'm failing at that.
